..doesn't work. My PS3 is on CFW with the latest firmware spoofed and whenever I try to connect my Vita with the PS3, the Vita says I must update my PS3. I was reading about the Open CMA trick (connecting to a PC and then unplug and re-plug the cable to the PS3) but it doesn't work at all. My Vita still wants my PS3 to be updated. Any workarounds for this?

Put your Vita in Airplane Mode, then power it completely off. It is likely still recalling the last prompt in its RAM telling the console that an update is available, but the system is not up-to-date.

Make sure you are using the most current version of Content Manager Assistant. If you're not sure, go to Wololo.net and grab the latest Open CMA, then completely uninstall CMA from your system, and delete the folders.

Then, reinstall the updated official CMA, crack it with Open CMA, turn your Vita on, plug it in and go to Content Manager Assistant on your Vita, and it should work.

I did this not even a week ago with a brand-new PS Vita that had 3.01 out of the box. I was able to activate it and everything. Let me know if you run into any problems.

My Vita's firmware is not the problem here, it's my PS3's. The Vita keep telling me that I must update my PS3's firmware, not the Vita's firmware. Do you have CFW on your PS3?

Ah. I read that part, and must have skipped past it. I do not have a modded PS3. I suppose, though, that if you have not already activated your PSN account on multiple PS3s, you could just sign on to a friend's, use theirs to download your exploit game, and copy it over that way.

Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

Ditto.
Just gave up and updated. I'd rather have more vita games as opposed to a bunch of old games i've already beat before.
Still sucks though.
