Bandai Namco revealed to the press at their Global Gamer’s Days event that Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment is coming to North America as a downloadable title on PlayStation Vita. Now, we’re allowed to let everyone else know.

While Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment features Kirito as your default avatar, you actually have the ability to customize both his looks and his name. You’ll begin your adventure in a town on the 76th floor of Aincrad and begin working your way to the top, fighting bosses and clearing dungeons.

There’s also a dating element in the game, and dates will sometimes end with pillow talk. Single-player aside, though, Hollow Fragment also has a multiplayer mode, where you can have a party of four players with one AI partner each, making for a team of eight.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment will be available in North America this Summer. More details will be shared at a later date, but in the meantime, you can check out English screenshots of the game out below.

Not buying because I hate SAO but I still hope Digimon has a chance.

Very cool, seemed like a neat game when I looked at it.
Did all the higher ups at Bamco get fired and replaced? Seriously they've been localizing a LOT lately and it's extremely out of character for them.

...Europe? Please? Anyone?

At least the Vita isn't region locked? lol

Except it'll be a downloadable title and changing regions on the Vita is such a pain in the ass it might as well be region locked.

After gunning through all of SAO thanks to Netflix about a month ago, I've been eager to get my hands on a decent game that is also playable in a language I understand (of which I'm limited to about 1.05 languages). I'll definitely be adding this to my list of titles I intend to pick up this summer.

I gotta say, even if the games aren't necessarily stellar (see: Battle of Z), I'm loving the Vita love from Bamco.
