Liberation Maiden was released by BigBlueBox and unfortunately it's not working on GW 2.1 here.
Anybody else can confirm that?

Yes it won't work and some other Eshop titles require a patch in order to work only the Gateway team can fix that you're doing nothing wrong.

So is this just a game incompatibility or is there a certain type of game or function of a game that hasn't been patched to work with Gateway? My worry with gateway is that one day when the money stops flowing in we're going to stop getting updates that support newest FW and games.

As far as I understand NCSD/NCCH signature check is what GW should patch inside 3DS’ firmware. The games are already released patched and this is what causing the signatures to be invalid.
That’s really offtipic, but as far as <4.5 consoles exist (and they do, and in great quantities), Gateway will deliver. If Nintendo decides to fight, they can render EmuNAND unupdateable and new games incompatible. So it’s always a game of tag.

It's very easy for Gateway to patch the NCCH signatures but in that case it would be very likely that someone writes a homebrew loader which doesn't require the red card any more.
You forget that any changes gateway makes to the firmware, don't persist after reboot. How exactly would a homebrew launcher - run from GW card, or installed - work without launching into GW mode first.

I heared that you can install games like eShop titles after having patched the NCCH signature.
So you're suggesting installing untampered games to the SD. Fair enough, the NCCH would be valid, but they still would not load. The 3DS checks the title's ticket stored in the NAND before launching a title. For all currently released 3dsware, the tickets have been false signed. So the content simply won't launch.

that's great ... hopefully GW will patch it soon :P

Yeah hopefully. Somebody should give them a shout. I do think that small but important updates like this should be released as a quick fix rather than GW trying to bundle it with major features that may take a long time to release.
