bahhh guess i gotta wait till the winter for some smash... i have a 3DS but im not interested in that version.
Ouch. My wallet hurts...
Trials Fusion - April (bought for £25)
Dark Souls 2 PC - April (£40 on steam)
Borderlands 2 Vita (probably £30-40) - May
Mario Kart 8 (£40 amazon) - May
GTAV PC (Rumoured) (probably £30-40) - June
SSB 3DS (again, probably £30-40) - Summer
Total Value - £174 (i presumed the £30-40 value games were £35 when adding the values)
Not to mention the steam summer sale and all the other sales that websites/stores do during the summer. :L
EDIT - GOD DAMN, IT I HIT QUOTE INSTEAD OF EDIT >: (
So far:
- Stages are completely different with the exception of Final Destination and Battlefield (I want that Galaxy stage so bad )
- 3DS has a unique mode where 4 players run through a large Subspace-ish world to collect upgrades, then fight; a lot like City Trial in Kirby's Air Ride (which I loved so I'm probably going to play the fuck out of this)
- Graphics obviously
- On the 3DS every stage has 2 songs. On the WiiU they'll have a ton like Brawl.
I think that's it.

I think this might be the thread you were looking for?
Nintendo clearly wants players to double-dip and buy both instead of offering proper cross-platform functionality which saddens me. Other than that, the game looks fine.
This is a short-term strategy for profit - alienate the players enough and they will stop buying your products altogether. There's really not much that they can do when the Wii U is in a tough spot. Making the games as two different versions is playing it safer than making the game cross-platform.
Yes. They already confirmed the roster being the same and I really can't see any mechanics or moves changing across versions, with the possible exceptions being the customizable movesets and stage-based mechanics (such as the Mario Galaxy stage being round). So game mechanics, characters, movesets, etc. Are identical across platforms?
