Hello! I have some questions about getting a proper HHD for my slim xbox 360. The console is RGHed, I used to play games backups from a external HDD, the problem started last day when the games started failing and freezing all time, later i noticed the HDD was corrupt and when I tried to make a backup i just got broken :(. So, today i am going to buy a Western digital Scorpion blue 320 Gb 2.5" HDD. I want to use it as an internal xbox 360 HDD, I know the tutorials for that, but my questions are:
1- ¿Is it possible to put the HDD as it was before i turn it on a xbox 360 compatible HDD?
2- ¿Is posible to install FSD on it and instal the games extracted (no god) on it via FTP of something similar? Or I will need a USB stick to copy from PC to HHD?
3- May be posible to install homebrews on the HDD?
4- Is there some problems using a non oficial HDD on the console such as owerheating o corruption data?
5-Can I use a SATA to USB adapter to convert the HDD to XBOX 360 HDD (I will do it form a notebook)

Thanks, any hel will be appreciated! :)
Ps: If you have a trustable link for doing the "HDD transformation" it will be usefull.

You can use any sized HDD in a RGH'd console.
Up to 2TB ;]

Yes, FSD can be installed on the internal drive.
Yes, homebrew works internally, GOD and xex extracts work and old Xbox games work as well.
Yes, you'll have to FTP into the console and transfer stuff or do it via USB and FSD's filemanager.
Nope, not as far as I know.
I think the HDD corruption came from un/replugging the USB drive.
I already dun like a bulky HDD next to a console and USB is slower then SATA.
Nope, just plonk it in and format it.

To sum it all up, follow this tutorial.
It answers everything.

Wow man that was really quick! Thanks for the info! That link you gave me is really long (I`ll get deep on it rigth now!) just something, when you say "You can use any sized HDD on RGH" that means i can skip the "hddhackr" process? Just plug it on the sata port and the console will do the magic?

Yep.
Since it's RGH'd the kernel patches remove the check for a HDD security sector.
Allowing you to use any HDD up to 2TB in the console.
The entire HDD size limit is non existent for homebrewed consoles ;]

No prob ;]
You'll have to get XeXMenu on your console some way.
Be it a Live container on a 360 formatted USB drive copied to the HDD or a CD.
CD would be preffered since you can move everything at once then, but it's your console so I'll let you have it ;]

The XeXmenu Live CD I made is a tiny bit outdated (Dashlaunch is)
I'll have to update it soon.

Hmm, guess you got a 4GB slim then (utilizing the internal MU for XeXMenu and save games etc)

I'd personally plonk FSD on the internal MU.
Easier to swap harddrives ;p
And well, the internal MU is flash memory, which is faster then a conventional HDD.
But it's your console, so you can place it on the HDD if you'd want to.

Aye aye.
Dashlaunch 3.12 is the latest version.
You can get it from here.

Yes, it is a Corona4G. Ok, so I copy the freestyledash to the "MU unit" instead HDD, all the others steeps are the same? Or, I will need to put the launch.ini in other place/edit it? (seems I´ll need to edit the boot default.xex location and I dont like messing with that ini I have bad experiences with it ¬¬)

If you use the launch.ini that I provided then just stick with the HDD ;]
Be sure to save the launch.ini to both the HDD and the NAND ( flash: )
That way you wont need to edit anything ;]

I did all you said and now the console is running FSD at strat and all that stuff. But, I have a problem... I noticed on file manager that sometomes when I enter on the HDD folders there is like 1 sec lag, that never happened before... I just ignored that, and played GTA V to make sure the HDD works. Well, GTA V ran without problems but when i started another game (naruto ultimate ninja storm 3 full burst) the game doesn´t work fine:
1- It leaks music very ofthen, or cuts it a random times.
2- Sometimes the game is loading forever between scenes and i must restart.
I tougth that the game was the problem so deleted it. I started another game (XBLA: Perfect Dark) and it had that "1 sec Lag" each time i change the weapon.
My HDD is slow? It it a Western Digital, it is supposed to work fine. Or maybe I ust put the games con GOD format? Or I will need to use the disc as an USB external drive?

Hmm..
Rerip that naturo game or recopy it.
Try it as a GOD file as well.
See which works better.

I don't think the HDD has any impact on the system performance, granted, faster HDD's are faster with loading etc.
But generally it doesn't matter much at all.

You could also clear the cache of FSD itself (should be in the setting somewhere) and the cache of the HDD (in system settings on the original MS dash)

You are flash?? :P. I will delete cache. Now Im transfering the game again. ¿How can I convert the extracted game to god? It seems I deleted the ISO o.O

Ahah, just being me ;p

Afaik, you can't.
Only program I know that can make a GOD file is ISO2GOD.
So you'll have to obtain the ISO again ;]
Hello again, I deleted cache on HDD and FSD and re-trasnfered the game (extracted) to the HDD. Now I don get the LAG when exploring the folders... but the game is still runing bad :(. I will find the ISO transform it to GOD and see what happens

Hmm that's good and bad at the same time.

Other thing I can think off is some dashlaunch setting.
Then again, that won't matter to much..

I hope reripping the game to GOD works for you.
Other thing I can think of is burning the ISO to a disc (if your drive is flashed)

My drive is not flashed, but can I do it with some kind of app on xell or from fsd? And, if nothing happens ¿is possible to restore de HDD and use it on windows? (I plug it on the PC but nothing happens, so i can re-format it to NTFS filesystem)

Unfortunately, you cannot flash drives from the 360.
I also wish someone would make a homebrew for it but then again, the DVD drive is pretty useless if you got a RGH machine ;p

Yes, you can format the HDD and restore it to NTFS with ease yep.

I reformated the HDD on XBOX 360 and it seems to be the same problem. ¿How can I format to NTFS? The PC doesn´t detect it :(
Edit: I did it, Im on NTFS. Now, Im gonna see what happens. If the game still works bad, the HDD is the problem... but it is supossed to work well on 360... O.o

Ok, Im using now as a External HDD, the game does not freeze anymore! If I buy a cheap HDD 2.5" to use as internal should I request something special in order to make sure it work faster than the WD or it is a random thing?
