The new Super Smash Bros game is coming this summer--on Nintendo 3DS, at least. Game director Masahiro Sakurai confirmed that the 3DS version will be shipping first, coming this summer. The Wii U version will ship later this year, this winter.

The next installment of the Super Smash Bros series is out soon as this Summer for the 3DS and Winter 2014 for Wii U. It is confirmed to run at 60FPS in 3D mode on the 3DS, however some elements such as assist trophies will run at 30FPS.

New comer Greninja from Pokemon X and Y was revealed, Charizard, Sheik and Zero Suit Samus are now stand alone characters. Both Charizard and Lucario have mega evolutions.

Well it's a 3DS game too, that's posted in the Wii U sub-section. Many people will probably miss it out and here the release window is clear other than saying Nintendo direct.

True, maybe a idea to add the differences (know so far) between the two versions on the first post?

So far:
- Stages are completely different with the exception of Final Destination and Battlefield (I want that Galaxy stage so bad :()
- 3DS has a unique mode where 4 players run through a large Subspace-ish world to collect upgrades, then fight; a lot like City Trial in Kirby's Air Ride (which I loved so I'm probably going to play the fuck out of this)
- Graphics obviously
- On the 3DS every stage has 2 songs. On the WiiU they'll have a ton like Brawl.

I think that's it.

Interested in the unique mode, probably will get both versions. There was going to be a cross-save/multiplatformer multiplayer option wasn't there? Maybe I read it wrong, or confused with another game (probably Monster Hunter), but that would be interesting.

Also saw that Charizard's Final Smash features Charizard X, any information so far about Charizard Y?

Pretty sure Charizard Y was not shown in the video. Maybe he'll have two different Final Smashes or something?
Also, Lucario's UpB taking him all the way across the stage was hilarious.

I love the the way Megaman and Little Mac are looking so far, I'll probably play those quite a bit at first.

Nintendo clearly wants players to double-dip and buy both instead of offering proper cross-platform functionality which saddens me. Other than that, the game looks fine.

everyone will cos their so overpowered...

Little mac for sure looks OP on ground but as they stressed in the video, he will suck hard in the air and recovering. Megaman has a wide variety of moves but from what iv seen, pretty much all of them do minor damage and nothing iv seen suggests to me that he'll be good. Fun? yes, good? no.

Rosalina on the other hand with stage-reaching attacks, epic recovery, juggling enemies.... Im predicting she'll be the first "meta knight teir" character before they do a balancing patch.

But the minute you jump into online For Glory mode where it's Final Destination only, where there's little no no air game, Mac's gonna dominate.
everyone will be too afraid to attack the bastard. you'll be beating the shit out of him the next minute he gets that KO bs power up and knocks you flying off the stage. i can see what is going to happen peeps will just sit there and let you beat up on him and than spam the fuck out of the KO....
