Hacking Pokemon X and Y battle and trading via LAN issues

Hi guys, I have an issues while playing LAN game with pokemon x and y. I have pokemon x and my friend's have pokemon y, both are US roms. But when we tried to battle or trade via LAN, we can't even detect each others. Do you guys faced this issues before?

We are using gateway 2.1 omega, without emunand. Thanks

I've been having difficulty trading and I believe it's due to not having emunand and the patch. So I'm doing emunand right now in hopes to get it working, you might have to as well.

In this case, both me and my friend's also need to set up emunand first? And how about the pokemon x/y patch? The rom itself is downloaded from a random website, so i'm not too sure what is the current patch of the game. Thanks for replying

You can check the version in the right corner right before you load your save file.

I tried it with 4.5 emunand and it did not work but then updated emunand to 7.1 and downloaded 1.2 patch from eshop and now local trading and battling works (between two gateway cards). yay!

So basically I need to set up my emunand to 7.1 and download the 1.2 patch from eshop to play locally with my friend's? But I'm still quite confuse about the 1.2 patch that needed to download from eshop. Because my pokemon X are downloaded rom, so if I download the 1.2 patch from the eshop, is the patch will be apply to my pokemon X rom? Thanks

Yes, Emunand to 7.1, enter eshop and get the patch.

The patch works on rom too.
