So given all this fiasco created by gateway by targeting innocent customers (instead of targeting competition), I am leaning towards getting the MT Card for my 3ds XL 4.2.0.9E.

Has there been any bricking so far with the MT card?
Where's the cheapest or best place to buy a legitimate one from (shipping to uk)?

I only wish to play the two zelda games link between worlds and ocarina of time.

Given the huge number of threads i have been unable to get a clear idea.

thanks

Why buy a flash cart if you could probably get both games for the same amount of money?

There is a rumor that the MT-Card was just lifted from the GW work, and that the reason why there are no reported MT bricks is because MT disabled the diagnostics. There are reports that the GW will brick if you are in GW mode and the power is drained. So if it is true that the MT is a copied GW code with disabled diagnostics, then there is still technically the possibility of a brick on power drain.

I don't care what he does. I'm just curious, why go through all the trouble of getting a flashcart instead of buying both zelda games if those are the only ones he wants to play.

Why restrict himself to just two games when he can play hundreds of them for the same price by getting a Gateway? Logic, man!

One of the reasons would be because its illegal to download roms you dont own?
Second, you want to support the developers of your beloved game.

If he ONLY wants to play those games, then yes, he should simply buy the games. Its the same price or cheaper, doesn't require a 4.1-4.5 system, and supports the devs.

Heck, everyone should buy their games. People just don't like paying for things. I ordered an MT-card because I have five or six games I purchased before the eshop came out that I cannot have simultaneously on my system. I paid $55 for convenience. lol

However, this is GBATEMP, and not the place to discuss moralities.

oceanic, if you only want to play those two games, you can get them both used off of ebay or something for cheaper than an MT-Card or Gateway. If you do want to play more games, and have no qualms with pirating, then go ahead and buy the card.

edit: crap, read the question wrong.

1) No, no bricking so far with MT-Card

2) I have no idea, I'm in the US. eachmall.me might work.

Well, best and cheapest are two different things. Eachmall.me has them cheap ($55 USD + $1.20 shipping), but it certainly isn't the best place. Someone said that they swapped out the order, but they have good reviews here overall.

Better yet, get a MT-Card with hardware multi-roms support. That way you don't have to switch out the card everytime you wants to play a different games and ruin the card metal contact someday.

He didn't mention anything about illegal downloading. Some people use it to backup their purchase games or preserve or limit the numbers of times inserting and ejecting the game card everytime you wanted to play a different games. This will help to prolong your 3DS.

Yeah go ahead and get yourself a 'Most-Terrible Card' and you might as well forget support or any hope of anything running in the future.

vinhdt you have your country flag wrong. Should be chinese ok?

ps: you don't really need to write long multiple point posts to justify your piracy. We like free games. You like free games. Nobody's reviewing your case file and judging if it's morally acceptable for you to pirate or not. Nobody cares.. they just like playing devils advocate while pirating themselves too.

It had no bricking so far and I'd say that it's not very likely that it will have bricking. My MT just works fine as it is.

Do you want to buy from England, from within Europe or is China ok, too?
