I feel like ive made a lot of selling my hardware threads(usually don't end up doing so because its bad financially) but I haven't picked up my 3ds and played on it in over a month, and when i do it for the virtual console games. The one game i hoped would re spark my interest after playing RE: Revelations, KH 3D, Super Mario 3D, and Mario Kart(Which were all great) was LoZ: ALBW. But I was disappointed, because the game felt rehashed imo it just felt like the same tools setting and plot as I've played for a while now.
I've gotten really off topic, but is the 3DS worth keeping?

P.S. I also have a lot of digital titles and I'm not sure I want to lose them if i ever pick up another 3ds/2ds down the rod. If i format the 3ds, can i re download the titles?

I'm not sure how the whole digital thing works, but I do know that if you sell it now and buy another 3DS later you're probably not getting them back. Also, Smash Bros will be released eventually, I'm waiting for that myself.

Yeah, unless you need the money, keep it. 3DS is an amazing console and there are leaps and strides happening in the homebrew scene.

There are a few AAA titles coming like Kirby, MonsterHunter4, Super Smash Bros.

I'd keep it. I don't use my 3DS that often but when I do it's still a lot of fun.
Give Yoshi's New Island a spin. It's pretty fun.

Thanks for all the replies(and positive ones at that-was expecting hate for what is said about Zelda)

I'm still on edge, but i had forgotten about smash bros, so that helps me to decide now.
I just wish i could find someone who wanted to buy it. Idk what to charge for it since it has a bunch of digital titles

Can you please stop with the 6.3 already? There are no leaps and strides in that regard, 4.1-4.5 is still the firmware to use, everything regarding 6.3 so far has been an unconfirmed rumour with nothing to back it up. This rumour has done enough harm already.

As for the 3DS, I'd personally keep it (in fact, I have two), there's a number of interesting games for it (you should try Shin Megami Tensei, they're all excellent). To me, the system is worth keeping, even though I don't have a whole lot of games for it nor am I interested in more than a handful from the full library.

Yeah, unless you need the money, keep it. 3DS is an amazing console and there are leaps and strides happening in the homebrew scene (unless you're >6.3 which means you're out of luck for sure).

Foxi... isn't that what he said tho?
But for being more precise, I would say anything NOT in 4.x is out of luck

Not really, no. X > 6.3 means "X greater than 6.3". This is false. X > 4.5 is the correct answer, it always has been and it will be until further notice.

No don't get me wrong. It's true. And I agree. When I read the whole thread, I took everything with a grain of salt.
Guess we understood the same thing but I didn,t realize the writing was at fault. XD

I'm just gradually getting sick and tired of the 6.3 stuff seeping into more and more threads with people running in circles. I don't want to sound harsh, I just don't want people stating rumours as facts - it's disorienting for everybody. ;)

One of the reasons I never make posts or thread conspiracies like that. As if I couldn't see what would happen!

It depends if you don't need it but with those digital titles linked on the console (I think) then you might want to keep it.

Yes, I guess he did not comprehend the context in which he was barraged with accusations of withholding information that doesn't exist from the public. It's possible that there are unicorns hidden somewhere beneath the Earth's crust, but that doesn't mean that we're going to build unicorn shrines now. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be rude, I'm trying to get a message across here.

You're basing your assumptions entirely on something a chinese leaker said and on the fact that smealum mentioned 6.3 on twitter and for all intents and purposes, that could have been related to something else entirely, for example a substantial change in how the firmware works. smealum happens to have redirected NAND working and he does perform some analysis of firmwares beyond 4.5, but that doesn't mean that he has an exploit for 6.3 and onwards, that just means that he's looking into things and perhaps noticed something that might prevent developers from coding even if an exploit is found, something along the lines of the post-4.5 changes. Long story short, we don't know what he meant, but not knowing something does not mean that wild guesses are going to get us somewhere. We don't fully understand how the universe was created, but we don't automatically assume that a giant croissant did it, no matter who alludes that this might've been the case.

I'm not a moderator - I can't stop you from doing what you're doing and I can't warn you for doing it, I don't have that kind of power. I can however give you a friendly warning - this chit-chat is going on in not one but several threads and it's serving nothing but their derailment. I appeal to your sense of courtesy, please don't derail threads that are in no way connected to your research.

I'm not seeing the "derailment" here? It was just a statement that homebrew could possibly be heading somewhere and on an older firmware is more likely. He wasn't off-topic and he didn't start any kind of rumor, there shouldn't be need of any warning.

Anyways, as for the thread starter I say keep the 3DS unless money is an urgent need at the moment. There are too many titles worth playing to be rid of a 3DS, which reminds me I need to pick up Bravely Default.

Can we discuss his topic?

He can unlink the digital titles, and relink them to another if he chooses to do so. I just did.

I had to go through a lot of stuff to get it done via Nintendo customer service, but it is possible. I have 2 broken 3DS's (got to love it when kids take stuff without permission). The first one had my digital content, and the other one had my NNID. I got them both transferred to a 3rd 3DS's emunand. I didn't even have serial numbers (again the kids, they took the stickers off the bottom), but having the NNID and having the other linked to my Club Nintendo helped. I told them the first one with the digital content was lost, and wanted to transfer to the one with the NNID. Then the kids broke the second one, so I had them transfer both the digital content and NNID to this one. I had to redownload all the content, but I did get it all transferred. If you want to do this, having the serial numbers would make it a lot easier. Be sure to make note of them!
