This is a big week not only for Xbox One and gaming PC owners, but the gaming industry as a whole. A new IP will be birthed tomorrow under the name Titanfall. Its fresh take on the FPS genre has resonated well with many. However, its technical side might not.
The Xbox One version of Titanfall hasn't been able to nail down the 60 FPS sweet spot like many were expecting. Giant Bomb's Jeff Gerstmann has noticed some unfortunate framerate drops when playing the game, which he noted in his pre-review:
The frame rate in Titanfall is uneven on the Xbox One and though it's usually fine, it can get downright nasty in specific situations. In one Last Titan Standing match–where every player spawns in a robot suit–several players crammed their mechs into a tight area and began duking it out, and the frame rate dived down to what must have been single digits per second. Even out in wider areas, the game feels a little hitchy from time to time, and there's noticeable tearing throughout.
I experienced similar issues during the beta, hoping that the final version would flesh everything out. It appears Respawn wasn't able to address the issue in time for launch.
Xbox One fanboys keep bragging about how they're getting Titanfall but as shown not only is the resolution low as it also has framerate problems. This really sucks because the game seems like a lot of fun (it's mech wars!).
I wonder how the 360 version is going to do, but anyhow, the PC edition is most likely the only one that gets out of this mess flawlessly.

You really hate the Bone do you?

If I hated it then why would I have said:

Mech games are not that commonly developed nowadays and anything that pops up is worth checking out regardless of console.

Edit: I've played Gundam Breaker Beta on my PS3 but it feels like a reskinned Dynasty Warriors. :-/

Didn't they say that Framerate and Resolution were Gonna be improved with like Patches or something in the Near Future???

Even if they did, that's no excuse. Don't release it if it's not ready. Patches should be to fix things that turn up later, not stuff they knew about but didn't get around to fixing in time.

They should of made the game with a clusterfuck of mech's all on screen at once and got it running smoothly before even attempting to release the game. Altho i doubt its as bad as it sounds, it really doesnt suprise me with the ammount of stuff that will be going on. As long as it looks fun to watch on youtube then im happy, no intention of buying the spybox one. Look forward to seing what the fans think

So... you start a thread in an Xbox One forum with commentary beginning with the words "Xbox One fanboys keep bragging". Now I'm all for taking the piss out of anyone taking a piece of electronics overly serious but a little subtlety and tact would improve the commentary.

In any event, I'm looking forward to firing it up again on the PC tomorrow and if I had an Xbox One it'd definitely be in my library regardless of some of the reported issues. All this talk about resolutions and frame rate surrounding new, recently launched consoles is stupid every time it comes around (minus the single digit issue, yikes). Give it a year, both systems will have some quality games running with little to no noticeable differences.

Wouldn't had this problem if they release this on PS4, I guess I'm going to get the master race version (pc) lol.
J/k I love my xbone but this console takes up all my multi media space, would be nice if you could upgrade the ram on this system.

One of the worst things that happens these days to games is over-graphical games that are terribly optimised such as AC4. I cannot understand how they can repeat their mistake for 3 gens of their ie. ACR, AC3 (really noticeable) and AC4 (broken in some parts).

That's why I love tested engines such as Unreal and Unity that may not be Anvil or whatnot but they show better output and consume less power.

I also remember Metro (2) - being a great game but their non-patched version was terrible in performance. It did offer great graphics but still felt like it was eating more than its fill.

I feel the point of a console is to play a game and not worry about things such as framerate issues, as the game is designed for that console.

You honestly think framerate doesn't matter and all important's only the gameplay? I dare you to play Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 and Sonic Unleashed these two games are filled with annoying framerate issues (whether 360 or PS3) that make it barely playable. I remember having framerate issues (2010-2011) on GTA IV but they seem to have patched it up since then.

And don't tell me "the eye can't see the framerate" it's just a pathetic excuse that some fanboys use to defend their precious console brand.

I should of expanded upon what I was saying so as not to confuse people.
What I meant is that the purpose of consoles is to have games designed specifically for their hardware, therefore it's only reasonable that there would be no framerate issues present.
For there to be framerate issues present could only suggest that the game was not designed for the hardware.
Titanfall is being hyped as Xbox One's first big game, yet it has not been designed so well for the xbox one, either the studio made the game poorly or it is primarily a PC game.
If the latter were true, then titanfall should surely be treated as a system seller for the Xbox One and does not provide the Xbox One with any more value.

Single digits per second? Lower than 10 fps? Remembers me when I was playing StarCraft 2 on my old PC: On big fights, I couldn't do any strategy besides A-Move and stim packs on soldiers (through hot keys).

They should at least maintain 30 fps before launch date. I can already see people blaming this low "low FPS" issue when they die on a few deathmatches. Just like lag on COD deathmatches.

How low does it drop? For me, 60 FPS is great. Really smooth. Even 30 FPS is fine for me though. If it stays higher than 30 I don't see what the big deal is. So I'm just wondering how low it drops. I'm not defending anything, just FYI. It's just my opinion. don't own an Xbone, nor do I care about it. I primarily play on PC.

The reviewer said that in some cases the frame rate dropped below 10 FPS which isn't good.
I don't get this at all though, aren't the ps4 and xbox1 almost equal in terms of power??
