So simply,
Sony decided to ban-hammer my console and login even though I never played online with the console. That said, I think it's stupid how the console requires PSN login for youtube and netflix's official apps even though neither service is using their network at all.
I've tried Showtime... repeatedly, for YouTube. However, I keep running into the same endless cycle of problems for access, even though I sign in to my own google account for youtube and do the whole access code authorization for it. Despite everything, if I try to use showtime's stuff to access ANY content (shows, movies, et al) for YouTube, it constantly either throws up errors saying I have yet to define my content resolutions (even though I explicitly do so when first setting up the ShowTime app), or then it gives me errors saying it "can't find links" to anything it's showing me, even though it's letting me see all the different episodes I would want to see.
While I can manually search for them with a keyboard, this is rather obnoxious compared to being able to navigate with the provided search methods or being able to use the BD remote. I'd like to get netflix to work because it'd be nice to actually use it on my TV for a change... but I've been unsuccessful in getting ANY previous workaround method to work, because the router we have available for internet is simply not sophisticated enough to block out some of the convoluted domain names required. The banned console in question is running 4.46 rebug REX at this point, but even that method simply doesn't work, and still whines about wanting a valid PSN login, even though the console itself is also banned.
Not sure what to do... and considering it's a BC unit, it damn sure isn't worth buying a separate PS3 for that, either.
