Hacking Gateway 3ds™ caused brick on my 3ds.

Step by step of how the brick occurred.
Passo a passo de como o brick ocorreu.

1 - I downloaded the latest firmware 2.0b2 Beta Firmware GW in http://www.gateway-3ds.com/downloads.html.
2 - I put the files in MicroSD card blue.
3 - I put the SD card in Launcher.dat nintedo 3DS.
4 - Insert the blue card on nintendo 3DS and I selected "GW_INSTALLER.NDS" installed correctly.
5 - selected profile> nintendo ds profile and pressed the L button
6 - At the gateway menu selected backup nand, taking approximately 10 minutes.
7 - gateway boot mode selected.
8 - Insert the red card in 3ds with super mario 3d land rom, worked perfectly.
9 - Back to profile> nintendo ds profile , selected classic mode, a black screen appeared and caught console.
10 - I had to force shutdown the power button on the 3ds, 3ds turn on appeared when the Blue screen with error 8046.

1.1'd just buy 3ds Store.
1.2 Wi-fi was off.

1- Fiz o download do firmware mais recente Beta Firmware GW 2.0b2 em http://www.gateway-3ds.com/downloads.html.
2- Coloquei os arquivos do cartão azul no microsd.
3- Coloquei o Launcher.dat no cartão SD do nintedo 3DS.
4- Inseri o cartão azul no nintendo 3DS e selecionei "GW_INSTALLER.NDS" instalou corretamente.
5- Selecionei perfil > nintendo ds perfil e pressionei o botão L.
6- No menu do gateway selecionei backup nand, levando 10 minutos aproximadamente.
7- Selecionei boot gateway mode.
8- Inseri o cartão vermelho no 3ds com a rom super mario 3d land, funcionou perfeitamente.
9- De volta ao perfil > nintendo ds perfil, selecionei classic mode, apareceu uma tela preta e console travou.
10- Tive que forçar o desligamento no botão power do 3ds, quando religuei o 3ds apareceu a tela Azul com o erro 8046.

1.1 Tinha acabado de comprar o 3ds da loja.
1.2 Wi-fi estava desligado.

will fix it for you, gladly.
We will send you back your console repaired - most of the case - or a brand new
console.
As you can imagine, we can read any Nintendo 3Ds like a book. If you send us a
console that was bricked any other way - most likely using a clone product (MT
card, 3DS Link, R4i 3DS etc.) - we will instantly see it, and you will be
required a $100 shipping and handling fee to return your bricked console.

We will for sure repair any legit damaged console, even if it is unrelated to
us, as long as it doesn't come from a clone use. We will not pretend if

not use a clone, we will fix your console.
Why we establish those conditions is because we know that otherwise, the clone
army of paid forum posters will send us hundreds of consoles just to again
waste our time, so we can't update our firmware and provide good support to our
customer. It is a crazy situation but unfortunately there is nothing we can do.

According to the forums, is a problem in the firmware 2.0 beta them, few people had the problem according to the forums but unlocking is like all others, is a change in the console. Let's send a message to them to see what kind of support they are giving as yet we have no official message by positioning them in on what to do or some way to reverse this, we rely solely on them because we saw that boards not there is no procedure for such cases. I will contact them, I ask that you keep contact with us for the next days.

De acordo com os fóruns, é um problema na firmware 2.0 beta deles, poucas pessoas tiveram o problema de acordo com os fóruns mas o desbloqueio é como todos os outros, é uma alteração no console. Vamos mandar uma mensagem para eles para ver que tipo de suporte eles estão dando pois até o momento não temos nenhuma mensagem oficial por parte deles nos posicionando sobre o que fazer ou alguma forma de reverter isso, vamos depender exclusivamente deles pois vimos que nos fóruns não há nenhum procedimento para esses casos. Entrarei em contato com eles, peço que mantenha o contato conosco para os próximos dias.

If the dealer nor the gateway knows what to do because the team has not given the gateway instructions or tools to repair my nintendo 3ds XL how can I believe in the gateway that all staff will be solved?

Se nem o revendedor do gateway sabe o que fazer porque a equipe do gateway não deu instruções nem ferramentas para reparar meu nintendo 3ds XL como posso acreditar na equipe do gateway que tudo será resolvido?

I really feel for your loss. Although I now have 14 legit 3DS games that I bought, I understand why there are flashcarts and why people buy them. I do not condone piracy, but I condone entrepreneurs like gateway bricking peoples systems. That is like vandalism in my opionion and should be punished by law. unfortunately they are in china where there is now law :(

I hope they are going bankrupt after that stunt!

I guess it was the right decision to just turn of my 3ds and sit this one out.

I dont like their attitude in the mails so far...
All this bricks occuring after 2.02b. Still they see no connection and accuse everybody of being members of the mafia.
I just hope GW is actually fixing this. Dont care if they do it silently.

my old 3ds xl just lived 3days after purchase
3dslink and ver 3.2 launcher was used at that time.

feel sorry for your case
hope gateway would solve it for you

you are the first one and you are the last one.
How can you still doubt this is real? Even reviewers have gotten bricks at this point. Surley i have seen the cloners posting here but I dont think they would go to this lenghts to make GW look bad.
Also its not that weird to think somebody registering to the site after they have a problem.
I lurked here since around 3 years but decided to register after I got my GW card..

Does anyone else find it weird that 90% of the bricks seem to be Brazilian?

There are numerous reasons for this one is the high price of games in Brazil.

1 game out in Brazil on average USD 62.17 and USD 100 for new games launched.
1 Nintendo 3ds XL USD 497.33.

1 Nintendo 3ds XL USD 497.33.

why so much in south America?
cant you buy from usa and have them shipped to you?

I didn't know that, you don't have to get rude about it I understand the frustration. hows was I to know what would happen.

Not being rude at you bro, but their custom. I am not from Brazil though, never even been there. I just researched their gaming markets.

Edit:

Basically, Brazil, Portugal, Italy and Russian Federation has some of the most notorious customs in the world.

The gaming in Brazil is extremely expensive as the government put a lot of tax on video games. It doesn't stop Brazilians from buying video games though as they really love Nintendo products down there. They find that it's only a one time investment and paying a premium doesn't matter as long as they are going to get a lot of entertainment from it.

thanks for letting me know. I meant: I condemn gateway for bricking ppls 3ds. I do't condemn piracy, because I understand the reasons for its existence.
