Things you hate to hear/read from tech impaired people

Hey Guys! I recently watched a video of Dolphin (Emulator) gameplay and I was reading the comments. Some of the comments were on topic, but there was occasionally comments that really irritated me. These comments were from technologically impaired people who didn't seem to grasp the understanding of an "Emulator" and quite frankly they didn't even know what an "Emulator" was. Comments like, "You can't play WII games on a Computer!!FAKE!!" or "Dude this is most likely a virus". These types of comments are not uncommon at all and even the forums will occasionally be plagued by them. What really irritates me is that these people didn't even bother to research what they were saying, and yet they continued to warp information. I was overall concerned with the amount of upvotes that some people were getting for comments like these.
To wrap things up I would really like to know what kinds of things you hate to hear/read from technologically impaired people. It can be about homebrew, hacking, video games, hardware, programming or any other topic that seems to fit. My goal is to seriously inform and guide these types of people with the correct information. Also, I think it would be fun to see your responses.

Nothing in particular comes up, but I hate to hear just about anything regarding emulation from technologically impaired people. Being a gamer doesn't mean you automatically know what you are talking about on anything that sort of involves gaming!

I work for a small web site business, and we hear things ALL THE TIME.

We actually had a client tell us that his cell service was bad because of the website we designed for him. He did NOT have a smartphone, so this is not a mobile website thing. He literally thought that his cell service was affected after we took his site live. >.<

n****, I'm sorry that you're too stupid to browse before you buy. You bought the WORST possible smartphone to emulate games on, given the severely limited app selection. Android is the best mobile platform for emulators, without a shadow of a doubt.

Or those people that want free games on their Wii/DS, but can't grasp the concept of downloading/dumping, patching, trimming, or doing anything else related to a game ROM or ISO image. They see me enjoying Super Mario 64 on my original Xbox, and want it on theirs too, but they have NO IDEA the necessary steps required to achieve such a task, and they give up listening to me about half-way through my explanation about the pre-requisites.

My patience for the "average casual" has hit an all-time peak. I'm glad I finally work with some tech-savvy co-workers. They enjoy emulators on their phones as much as I do, we swap console stories, and everyone over the age of 30 it seems just has questionmarks over their heads as to what we are talking about. Makes me sad that people are so uninformed about commonplace things these days. -.-

People that call every hack a "jailbreak"
People that call android tablets "ipads"
People that claim Apple is the best when their obviously just another sheep that falls for the mass market.
Generic comments like "SEED PLOX" and 95% of youtube comments (thank god for disabling comments all together and not bothering to look)
"newssites" that think they know everything about an article when 75% is just pulled out of thin air.

I could go on forever...

one of the favourites latley for me is when PC gaming comes up and the usual responce is "herp a derp, why would you play that on a keyboard and mouse, herp a derp." Is no one aware a good chunk of PC games come with support for control pads now a days?

Have you even seen the Steam forums? "KEYBAORD AND MOUSE SUPERIOR FOR EVERY GAME, GAMEPADS ARE FOR CONSOLE PLEBS". Of course not everyone is like that but I've seen that several times.

"I like Macs more than I do PCs, they're better anyways" Major flaw, under the definition of "personal computer", Macs fall under the same criteria. They don't realize Macs are a just a PC with a non-Windows OS on it. People will never get it
"X emulator from 2006 is the best (insert console name) emulator out there!" This one bothers me to no end, a prime example would Zsnes from 2006, people praise it day in and day out as the be-all end-all god of Snes emulators to this day. Snes9x is so much better in stability, accuracy and much higher compatibility*
And my all time favorite, "Why can't I connect to the internet? I've been trying to connect all day, my internet provider said they're going to send someone out" when the person has neither Ethernet or wireless network adapter plugged in.

Old People (People over 40): "I'm too old to learn that computer stuff" because they have no idea what they're missing.
Like how icecream is amazing, and people that never tried ice cream don't care for it because they don't know what they're missing with no reference level.
There are elderly people that get technology and telecommunications like younger crowd, I just don't think there are enough of them.

Never bother too much with the Steam forums unless they provide some info to fix a game but yeah you do get some people who go on too much about kb/m being superior yeh...

Still another one that comes to mind, people referring to network cards as "internet" cards, I know it is petty but it does my nut in somedays, the same way people get memory and storage mixed up too

Me: HDMI, optical audio, coaxial audio, display port... there's tons of different kinds.
MAW: I'll just wait for my husband he knows what he's talking about.

Both of those are real conversations that happened within this week. Fucking christ.

People who ask for help, then when the diagnosis is they need to purchase a new part because say they fried their laptop video card because they didn't listen when you said to get a cooling pad..... *cough* uhm, so yeah, you tell them they need to buy something and they freak out and assume there has to be something else that you are missing. Suddenly your help isn't good enough because you couldn't magically fix a fried component.

Hmm, I suppose this is a little off topic, more like a post for "adventures in tech support" lol

I saw one guy who said something along the lines of "Save money on a PSU and a case by dumpster diving. People throw them away all the time and they work amazingly".

And there's that one person who comes to you for tech advice and does a complete 180 and comes to you when he/she has problems with the tech you advised them not to get.

Does that count?

I would like to point out that if you're doing heavy photoshop/SFM/premiere, it IS a lifesaver.
