My brain hurts now.
The reasonable me whispers that it's an impossibility anyways, since if we have infinite numbers, the "summing up" process never really stops... Moreover, if we're not substracting anything, how come we end up with a result lower than zero? How bizzare - maybe this is just some odd exception. After all, the moment you take "an average" of anything, accuracy suffers. :)

The larger the number of trials the closer the average is it the exact value, but it's not the exact value, is it? :P
But as the number of trials approaches infinity, the difference between the exact value and the average approaches zero. Not another infinity.

"The Story of Bing-Bong"

A long time ago in the dark lands of Africa, a young explorer traversed the land.
All of a sudden, he heard the war chants of the natives!
He tried to run, but was no match for the fast-running hunters from the local tribes.
"You have choice" - the head hunter said as he aimed his spear at the white man.
"You can death or you can Bing-Bong"
The explorer, fearing for his life, said "Bing-Bong, please!"
The hunters were happy - they grabbed him, undressed him and proceeded to rape him in the butt.

The next day, the aching explorer was on his way to the nearest town.
Once more, he heard the sound of war chants and tried to run, but due to his recent misadventure, he could not outrun his assaliants.
"Death or Bing-Bong?" - asked the head hunter mercilessly.
The white man chose Bing-Bong... and was raped in the butt.

The third day, truly exhausted, the white man was nearing the town when once more, the war chant could be heard.
He was caught, and the head hunter asked: "Death or Bing-Bong?"
The man was broken - he could withstand no more and answered: "Death..."
...after hearing it, the tribe happily chanted away!
"DEATH BY BING-BONG! DEATH BY BING-BONG!" :D

Thank you for reading. :)

Apparently the summation of one to infinity is a diverging series because it will never approach a specific value, so it can't be solved using normal means. There's various methods to solve them and I'm not even sure whether all of them always give the same value - I ASSUME they do, but really I don't know. And I can't even read the Wikipedia article on diverging series without getting a near headache, so I'll believe it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divergent_series
On the other hand typical summations from 1 to m can be rewritten using the formula (1/2) * m * (m + 1) where m is the upper bound. Plugging infinity into there gives (1/2) * infinity * (infinity + 1) which equals infinity... so yeah, fuck maths.
