Hacking Hulu Plus Channel Wad for vWii (NTSC)

Hi, I have searched everywhere and cant seem to find it. I found one which seems to be legit but when trying to install using Wii Mode Lite (vWii) it didnt let me it said something like wrong console ID etc. Here's the link:

I double checked the size since the the Hulu plus channel bin in my Wii's SD Card private folder also weighs 18mb.

I didnt mean to be mean (no pun intended). The reason why I would like to obtain the Hulu plus channel is nothing particular. I just would like to see everything that I have in my old Wii on the vWii. I have almost succeeded including around 60 WiiWare and VC channels running from an SD card, all my Homebrew apps, Forwarders and all Wii official channels. I just need the Hulu plus channel to complete my task. I hope you "can see" it because I "can't get it"... myself yet.

I'm in your boat Pepois, and I've done all the same as you have. I can recommend 'ConnectMii' for turning on WiiConnect24, even though WiiConnect24 functionality has been disabled. I still enable WiiConnect24 when I load vWii and I receive the occasional rare message from Nintendo still (just to upgrade Wii to Wii U). Regarding Hulu Plus and a wad of it, I don't use Hulu but I did successfully create WADs of the channels I do use using my original Wii.

These directions were sent to me by the helpful temper AwesomeMariofan and I have copied them here verbatim - I was able to use something called BlueDump though (http://gbatemp.net/threads/yet-another-bluedump-mod-yabdm.354730/) to do this.

Once you load it up from the Homebrew Channel, and it's done Initializing, use the D-Pad to select the SD Card option for both listings, then press A. On the next screen, you should see your Wii's filesystem. Scroll down to title, then select 00010001 - Downloaded/Custom Channels. Then, scroll up and down to find the channel you would like to create the WAD for, and press 1 while you have it selected.
Scroll to the right twice and it should say Extract WAD, press A here and you will have your channel WAD put onto your SD Card

It allows you to turn on WiiConnect24 on vWii. But that's pointless as WiiConnect24 is now disabled, so even if you could turn it on it doesn't work.

It's not entirely pointless, just more of a curio/nostalgia; as mentioned when I turn it on now it allows Nintendo marketing messages to reach my vWii message board. It also allows you to still load the News Channel, Check Mii Out Channel, Everybody Votes Channel, Nintendo Channel, and Weather Channel (for nostalgia sake, as they kick back the 'Thank you for using WiiConnect but it's now off' message). It also ticks it on for games that support it (ie: Animal Crossing), again for nostalgia sake. What I have found most useful in the post-WiiConnect24 days is the ability to load the Wii Speak Channel, which transfers fine but won't load if WiiConnect24 is turned off. I don't know anyone to swap friend codes with though so I'm not sure if the Wii Speak Channel even functions anymore.

Hi Benzem, thank you for all the info, I did as you suggested and bingo everything works!!! I had to change the Title IDs of may wads incluiding Nintendo Official channels to get the 16:9 aspect ratio and BlueDump works great. I also tried ConnectMii and it works great. I was wondering if you happen to have the ConnectMii forwarder? the link is dead in the forwarders thread. Thank you!

I actually have a channel WAD for Connectmii, not a forwarder. However it is only 1.0, and the last version of ConnectMii was 1.2. No one updated the channel and the changes made in 1.1 and 1.2 didn't affect the WiiConnect24, just the behavior of ConnectMii when direct launching other channels. I'd love to have an updated ConnectMii channel at 1.2, but I've never messed with channel creation so I didn't want to risk trying to make it myself. If you have an ftp or megaupload or something I can get you the channel I have. If you can make a channel WAD using 1.2, however, I'd be forever grateful

I wish I knew how to make channels and forwarders but I'm afraid I dont. I would make one for nintendont. The good thing is that someone's already made a forwarder for ConnectMii though the link is dead. I have already asked the creator to please re upload it. So hopefully when he does Ill let u know. Hi Bezem, I found a forwarder which works great with ConnectMii 1.2 is not as nice as the black one which btw, I would love to own... but it works!

My channel has the black image, and I agree it's the best looking one. Since 1.2 and 1.1 did not affect the functionality of the app itself, only its exit behavior, I'll probably stay put. Thanks though!

Just to let you know I finally made a forwarder for ConnectMii is quiet similar but I improved the logo and gave it a black background. Anyway hope you like it!
