As everyone knows the latest R4i/3DSLink firmwares brick your 3DS, so the only way to use emunand 7.1 is with GateWay's launcher. However I already have a lot of files such as my Phoenix Wright game I bought and its save file on the 3DSLink emunand I made, is there any way I can convert my emunand for it to work with GateWay's launcher?

Yes, use this program:
http://gbatemp.net/threads/emunand-tool-v1-0.359239/

First, extract the emuNAND from your SD. Then, format your SD using the Panasonic format. Put GW's launcher and in your 3DS use the "Format emuNAND" option in the Gateway's launcher. Finally, use the "inject NAND to emuNAND" option in the emuNAND tool to get the backup of your emuNAND to replace the emuNAND stored in your SD.

When I try to use this tool it doesn't find my SD card

Hmmm, try to close the program and open it after your SD is plugged in your computer. Also, give it Administrator Privileges.

Have you tried using the Gateway launcher with your current SD card as is? I see no reason why it shouldn't work.

It doesn't :) r4 just edited the gateway header at the start of the emunand to say r4....I believe that's the only thing stopping it....just using the program will probs be easier than trying to edit the partitions though, and quicker XD

I plug it in directly into my laptop. Any other solutions would creating a new emunand with Gateway launcher and recopying the files back into it work?

If you don't have anything relevant to keep from the emuNAND, just wipe it out. About the regular files, indeed, you can just copy them.

Will my Phoenix Wright save file be in tact? Would I have to redownload Phoenix Wright from the Eshop?

There's a function in 7.1 to copy a savefile from eShop games to the SD, maybe this can work to keep your game. In any case, I recommend you to make a backup of the entire SD using the win32imager in case the save file can't be read after creating and updating the second emuNAND.

Maybe I should use another SD card to do this?

I believe you have to make sure, that after clicking to creat emunand you have to copy the files onto the SD card before you boot up into the emunand or it will create different directories to store files than your old card.....this isn't 100% just I seem to remember someone had a similar issue, although I believe it can be resolved manually by finding the correct files and putting them in the right place relative to your new directory setup on the card

I think you need to use r4i emunand with r4i launcher, and gw emunand with gw launcher you can't mix and match them. But if you use n1ghty's tool then you can convert between the two
