Hacking Checking the MD5 hash of your Launcher.dat

You can check the hashes by installing Hashtab on your windows PC/Mac or using the "sha" or "md5" function in the terminal/console if you're using Linux/Mac.
This way you'll be able to check the MD5/SHA hash of your Launcher.dat file.

The Gateway launcher MD5/SHA:​

Hashtab:​

Right click the file, click on Properties and then on the File Hashes tab.​

Linux/Mac:​

Go to the console/terminal and type in "sha" or "md5".​

Drag the launcher.dat into the terminal/console.​

The "bricking" only occurs on the beta 2.0 launchers due to a special code.​

There are reports of bricked consoles with unmodified launchers, however most of the bricks occur from cloned launchers and modified ones.​

However, this has no purpose because there have been reports of bricking with the untouched (and hash verified) launcher... if the launcher is corrupted, it just doesn't load.

Ofcourse it won't be that effective and extreme paranoid people will avoid it at all cost, but for the ones that do take the risk, it's helpful to reduce the risk more.

The launcher.dat should be 1.042.704 Bytes large.

It's real name is "GW_Release_1.2.zip" and you can download it from the official website if you edit the URL.
