I have a GW card, yesterday I checked my launcher.dat MD5, I saw it was 793daccb186f329085bdce76cb61f390 (if I'm not wrong good one was confirmed to be 6361c5d4935af6d888ffc0646548f5dd). I wonder where my launcher.dat is coming from (never used region free patch), maybe the one you have after having prepared the SD for emuNAND is different? I checked the one it's inside the 2.0b2 zip from GW site and that one is correct (so to be safe replaced the "strange" one with this).
I was wandering if replacing the launcher.dat is enough, or maybe it's better to format the sdcard (just in case the supposed GW bricking code write something there as well...).
Anyone?

Thanks

If you got it from the official GW site, redownload reformat and recheck the hash after it's been prepped to see if it matches the current suspect hash.

where did you get it from

get it from the Official gateway site to be safe
or just not use the beta FW

The only files I have are coming from GW site, I can't remember if I just left in place the launcher.dat after the emuNAND partition thing or if I copied the zipped one (this is a 3DS XL). Oddly enough, I have another 3DS where the launcher.dat is the good one (I use this 3DS as a guinea pig before doing anything new to my 3DS XL).

There is no need, the launcher.dat inside the zip I downloaded days ago it is a good one. So to be sure I'll just format my sdcard and I'll copy back my sav files. Will I loose the updates I downloaded from the shop (i.e. Pokemon one)?

Just backup your "Nintendo 3DS" folder and restore it after you format.

Actually I wanted to avoid doing that, just in case the supposed bricking code is writing something also on the sdcard (I know, it's a paranoic thing). So I guess I'll download again the patch.
