No, you're not safe. If a slight error occurs on loading the exploit, which evidently happens a lot, considering how many times the firmware locks up on booting, then your entire system could be fried!

That's apparently where we're at right now, but I'm very skeptical on weather or not this is just a big hoax. That being said, you should be fine, on any cartridge. That's not a 100% guarantee though.

I have been using official gateway software with it and I have been fine. If you are unsure you could start with 1.2 version but the 2.02b has been out for weeks and no one has complained about it. this scare is completely unrelated to gateway users imo

thats not evidence of gateway bricking consoles

the firmware and launchers could have been modified by anyone at any time

most of the bricked systems seem to be from cloned cards and modified launchers and firmware that are not offical and are not from gateway

I've been using R4i's 3.1 firmware for the past 2 weeks with no issues, so yeah, it seems kinda stupid that this is just now coming up.

That's because the brick is apparently randomized. May happen, may not happen. If 3.1 is the port of 2.0b though (I'm not sure which version corresponds to what) you run the risk of it suddenly breaking on you at some point.

I'm right there with you Bminkie, I've ordered one two days ago and now I feel like i've thrown my money through the window. I don't know if when I'll get it I should take the risk to brick my brand new 3DS

I get mines tomoroow also if my 3ds get bricked I can just return my 3ds I just bought the 3ds like 2 days ago lol
