Shaq Fu 2 is a thing and it's happening

Shaquille O’Neal confirms that Shaq Fu 2 is “coming soon” in an exclusive interview with GamerFitNation at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.


“The graphics look crazy,” says O’Neal. Gamers could see Shaq Fu 2 on next-generation consoles in the near future.

Now, Shaq Fu isn't a game that's remembered for its quality (quite the opposite, really), but that makes it all the better that we're getting teased so early. It gives us time to prepare, both mentally and physically, for the challenge. You're definitely going to want to work that body, but remember: Just make sure you hurt nobody.

People need to be really careful handling stories like this. I went through years of therapy after playing all the way through Shaq Fu to win a £20 bet with my brother, so I've overcome the negative side effects...mostly. But there are others who didn't take this route for whom the announcement of a Shaq Fu 2 activates some sort of despair-induced Berzerker mode.

While I won't be going anywhere near this game, it's a tad silly to assume that because a Genesis/SNES game was terrible its XB1/PS4 sequel 20 years later will be equally as terrible...

Given the sequels made 20 years on to good Genesis/SNES/Amiga games have a less than stellar track record I am not inclined to call false logic here.
