Hi, I have read many posts that say after system transfer to emuNAND, you cant play those GBA/NES ambassador games (you can see them, but not playable) and if you boot to sysNAND, you cannot see them, first I want to make sure if that is correct?

Now, I also remember I have seen a post that says he CAN play those titles after system transfer. But it was like transfering to a sysNAND, then dump it and replace emuNAND with it? I cant find the post anymore, its only coming from my memory, so secondly, I want to know if that is true?

And lastly, if that is true, could someone list out the steps?

If I am to guess, what makes sense would be:
1. Solder the target 3DS to get it ready to up/downgrade
2. Dump the target 3DS current <= 4.5 sysNAND (via the 4-pin or GW backup?)
3. Update both the source and target 3DSes sysNAND to latest firmware to get them ready to do system transfer
4. Do system transfer
5. Dump the target 3DS latest sysNAND
6. Overwrite the target 3DS SD card emuNAND with the latest sysNAND obtained from 5.
7. Downgrade the target 3DS with the <= 4.5 sysNAND obtained from 2.
8. Boot emuNAND

but what I can't understand is how is this different from using purely emuNAND? i.e.
1. Update the target 3DS emuNAND to latest firmware to get it ready to do system transfer
2. Update the source 3DS sysNAND to latest firmware to get it ready to do system transfer
3. Do system transfer
4. Boot emuNAND

Thanks for sharing. Now the information is just all mixed up.

So after system transfer to emuNAND, if you boot to <= 4.5 sysNAND, you can actually see the games? Are they playable and savable?

any games downloaded on emunand are not playable on system nand, gba,DS and DSi games are not playable on emunand or system nand....unless they where already on your systemnand (i.e downloaded when eshop access was allowed on 4.5)

untok I think your saves aren't gone yet. If you've kept the old sd card (or its content) you can quickly recover the all the files, you won't even have to download a thing.

On my systems, these two folders inside "Nintendo 3DS", the one from the old card and the one that's been created after system transfer, both had the same name (=key):

This "cca..." thing.
But the respective folders inside had different names:

What I did to fix this was to simply transfer the stuff inside from the old to the new SD card (you can also rename the old folder instead and copy then).
After that, I had everything exactly the way it was on the old 3DS, all my saves were back there including my download Animal Crossing.
I hope you have the same problem and this will fix it.

Thanks danthe i will try that later

Indeed there are identical folders newer folder inside that is diffefent name.
Weird that 3ds creates new folder different name to system transfer.

Tried to restore saves and saves dont restore.
I have backup on old card to pc but movin folder content any of my downloaded games dosent show.

Wrote back my image and games are now back but saves are gone.

Maybe something to do when i redownloaded my games are redownloaded games different id than old card backup games and saves maybe that is answer dunno.

Found this info and lots of titles and ander title id folder data folder and tehn data files maybe taht sav can copy my new title id data folder title by title aargh

FIre Emblem was called "000a0500"
-Expand sub-folder "data" and find "00000001.sav" and copy that .sav file

i takes ages but maybe that work

I guess DS Mode stuff doesn't work at all because the kernel is realoaded and the nand-to-sd redirection is done patching the kernel... DS(i) mode uses TWL FIRM while 3ds mode uses NATIVE FIRM. Since after the reload the redirection is gone, it can't find the game it was asked to load in the REAL nand, and it hangs. Or in the case of a DS(i) gamecard/flashcard, it probably can't find the corresponding DS Card Whitelist (the data used to detect flashcards) or something else in the real nand, and so it hangs too. I don't think this can be fixed (at least for the DSiWare), because DSiWare games are hardcoded to look for their game data in the real nand. There's no asking any kernel where the files are located. But they could (I guess) redirect the DS Card whitelist and other stuff needed for game/flashcards to work, since the twl firm (I think) loads them directly.

Tested now to bring back saves to pokemmon and animal crossin save file corrupted both.
Also tested that instruction earlier too games not gonna appear.

Now restored image and maybelater try another game saves than pokemon and animalcrossin to restore to data folders.

Also annoying is when arrange games leave to sysnan go back games are unarrage emunand doesent keep them arranged when leave sysnand.
