NO.

Edit: Unless of course, you want ONLY multi-rom and nothing else at the moment. Also, I have yet to hear anyone actually GETTING their MT card after they ordered one, so you might want to wait even longer.

Its the design that really got me and I hear loading times are faster on MT-CARD as well, but I guess I'll wait for now

The MT-Card's current firmware has a lot of saving and compatibility problems. Let alone it's lack of emuNAND, SDK 5+ support, etc. IIRC the MT-Card and Gateway cost around the same. But if you're really hellbent on getting an MT, my answer is no, because of previously stated issues.

The loading time being shorter on the MT-Card is probably due to differences in the FPGA logic. With the FPGA firmware update on the GW card coming, who knows if load times will improve with the new logic. Only time will tell.

The longer boot times are actually a feature :P it takes longer because it's booting emunand from the SD slot, as opposed to just running launcher.dat, so if MT ever get emunand, they will also have to wait the same as gateway does for the FW to boot from Emunand

It could also be the fact that they have less images on their menu the reason it loads faster after pressing DS profile.

Well, I'm currently in HK. Considering getting a new 4.5 3DS and now not sure if I should get the MT card or the GW.

If you don't plan on playing any of the newer games, and want to carry multiple games on one cart, then gladly grab the MT Card. No one here has really tested it though, so it's unexplored territory. Just keep that in mind if you get that one.

As for the Gateway, if you want to wait indefinitely for Multi-Rom, and play some newer games, go for it. Or, get a clone and save some money, and do the same things as the Gateway can. You might have to wait a little longer for Multi-Rom on the clones though, as they don't appear to be working toward getting their own customized firmware out any time soon, they just grab what Gateway does and release a modified version of it a few days later. You'll still be waiting for who knows how long for Multi-Rom, either way.

I tested it (except of the online connection).

Ok. As for the cost, this is not really an issue. Unlike online retailers, I can order from taobao (chinese amazon/ebay) which means that the price of a GW is <= USD60. R4i Gold deluxe is ~USD36 while MT is similarly priced with the GW.

How often does the corrupt save issue occur? I read that the MT cards are having some issues with game's not saving properly.

I played Bravely Default [EUR] for 3 hours and 33 minutes and I had no save issue so far.
During my tests, I had one save issue with Mario Kart 7 but I think that it was my fault (either I closed the game too early or there was a connection issue between the microSD card and the MT-Card).

Have I missed something?....has there actually been Any indication r4i has anything planned to update the FPGA or still people living in the clouds about that one?

From what has been pretty much conclusively proven r4i will not be able to rip off the next gateway firmware unless they pull their finger out their bum and do some of their own work

Look, at this point of time it is pure speculation. There is no real proof that r4i won't be able to rip off the GW feature.

If you think about it this way, GW has intent in mentioning that their next update can not be copied by clones. In stating so, they can raise doubt in possible customers of clones.

That being said, everything related to clones being able to copy GW updates or not should be taken with a grain of salt. Only true way to tell for sure is to wait and see.
