Hacking XK3Y and Xbox 360 Slim

I wanted to buy an Xbox Slim and a Xk3y just not sure what I would need to do to make it work. Thanks for the direction to helping me!

I'd personally go with an older Slim (Drive keys are easier to extract)
You'll need a way to extract the keys (X360 USB Pro v2 or a CK3i + X360 USB Pro v1) and Jungleflasher.
Jungleflasher comes with a manual that helps you extract your keys ;]

Easy as just hooking it up and clicking on SlimKey.
Newer Slims need to be RGH'd in order to obtain the needed keys + files.

Do you have any idea how would I know which Slim to buy? Also, do you have an xk3y?

You're pretty much set if it's a glossy Slim made in 2011.
Super rare chance that it comes with a uncompatible drive but the vast majority of those Slims come with Liteon drives which are the easiest to extract ;]

I do got a spare Xkey yes, but it's best and cheaper to just order one online ;p

Just wondering if you have ever gotten banned for playing it online. I have an Xbox One with Gold enabled and just wondering if I should chance playing offline and then every once in a while syncing my achievements

I've got an Xk3y (in fact, about 6 months ago Dinoh here helped me through getting mine to work) and I've not been banned and mine is on live pretty much every day, played all releases early (as i dont care if i end up getting banned or not) and even used the ISOMENU function instead of the remote. No problems here and it works like a dream.

If you patch your backups correctly and keep your Xkey updated at all times then the chance of getting banned is 0.1% even if you play your backups on XBLive.
Patching backups, use ABGX.

The ISOMenu ban rumor was a hoax.
Admins of the Xkey website even acknowledged it was used as a trick to get more people to buy the remotes that come with it.
So you're safe to use that as well ;]

Oh that's good to hear I would just want to sync trophies I don't really like playing games online that much

Just format your drive to EXT3 or EXT4 if you have the capability to do so. Trust me, it performs so much better than leaving your drive in standard NTFS format.

Forgot to add.
You'll have to patch XGD3 backups.
Without the correct topology data (some releases have them removed) the games won't even boot.
So best is to patch every backup you have ;]

Ah ok so it might be better to send it off to get done by someone. I know that one of the suppliers for the XK3Y if you send in the console they will do it for it. Should I just do that since I don't know anyone that has to tools to do it. Also with the Xk3Y can I play original Xbox games?

Damn! I've been using the remote for a while now! Back to menu I go tonight after work thanks for the info

Only advantage the remote has is that you're less likely to switch a game, as it requires getting up etc ;p
