Is there a way to make a GameCube Homebrew application?
What it would do is, on startup play a video (The intro of the GameCube), then autoboot using Neogamma the disc in the drive (Using MIOS). There is an existing channel which plays the GameCube intro as a banner, but there is no way to show that when autobooting with PriiLoader.

I was going to combine this with PriiLoader and have it autostart the application when the Wii starts up. Basically this would convert a Wii into a GameCube.

Thanks,

Someone's in the mood for overcomplicating stuff. :rofl2:

I suppose you could modify Neogamma itself if you had the sourcecode and embed the video as well as some form of a media player that would play it prior to the boot procedure... or you could make an app that plays this one video and re-directs back to the disc channel... but I really don't see the point - you might as well use a Gamecube.

Ah. :) Yeah I was going to try and find one along with a modchip, they're a bit difficult to find now I guess, since things are not being manufactured anymore.

"A bit hard to find"? You can get one for $20-$30 depending on what you want with it and finding a modchip is extremely easy, both because there's loads of XenoGC's out there and because some Wii ones are backwards-compatible (Wiikey Fusion). Hell, you don't even need a modchip, you can use an SD or USB Gecko just as well.

That being said, why would you want to if the Wii does the same job with no extra expense? :P

I always wanted a real GameCube. :)

Also the backup mini DVD-R disc that I burned is acting weird when playing in the Wii (Random disc read errors), so I figured a GameCube would probably be the best option, I found one on Craigslist actually.

Do you know of a good place to get a XenoGC 2.0 chip? I was looking here, but wanted to make sure these sites were legit:
http://www.elitasia.com/XenoGC-2.0
