It has nothing to do with what pokemon are coming through. It's probably has something to do with, you know, the server overload that made the eshop impossible to use all day. It couldn't handle the pressure of the Japanese release, imagine worldwide...

Honestly, if Nintendo had to choose between Pokebank and eShop, they made the right choice.
(its been reported the Japanese Pokebank launch is what caused the eshop outage)

Would be nice to get an extra legendary Pokemon as a sorry gift for the delay but to be honest, servers always gets hammered like the recent Steam and PSN so I highly doubt anything will come from this.

If anything, Nintendo are pretty much telling their customers "hey, don't spend your Christmas money at our eShop" the longer this downtime goes on.

what nintendo really trying to say is,
"hey, our network servers are as dated as our game console's hardware. we'll eventually ditch the pentium pro, RISC processor, Snail slow 486 SCSI powered infirstructure, and update to 56k dialup."

what rattles my mind is.
how could one of the top three major gaming manufactures NOT own a server array rivaling Google. sure that's a far-fetched analogy, but we're talking about a company who's whole existence "their bread and butter" relies on media. with the shift to ON-Line-Everything, you would think at some point they would of jumped the bandwagon and updated hardware.

Well I finally managed to get onto the eShop and grabbed the Pokemon update because I was on a mini hiatus from the game. Is the Wondertrade/GTS still working at this moment because I could really go for some more Pokemon trade.
