PSN has been spotty all day, IOS stuff has been spotty and eShop has been down for most of all day. Wait til either late tonight or tomorrow to get on the eShop. It's just too many people accessing the service.
Or maybe Idk, problems about the servers in general that are totally out of their hands and trying to fix it?
Oh, so you buy a physical package which gives you the download code for the game; am I understanding this right? If that's the case, then why didn't they just package the card in the physical case? That way, they would've had the game: and all they'd needed to do was register the game with their NNID.
Servers don't have problems by coincidence on Christmas morning, they likely have been DDoS-ed by thousand of kids (and grown ups too) from every angle of Earth trying to access the eShop at the same time. Someone failed to predict this and dimension the servers accordingly.
You buy a plain 3DS with nothing bundled and simply expect to open its "appstore" and download software for it using a credit card or prepaid scratch cards. That's the most common situation, I suppose.
Sounds... stupid. And you're complaining that the network is down because thousands of people bought a 3DS and went onto the eShop to download the game from the app store?
What's stupid about it? Smartphone and tablets have gone fully digital. Services are not expected to be down all day. A service that Nintendo advertise, not some obscure feature. People have every right to rely on it.
Yup. Steam was completely unusable because of -118 errors yesterday for at least several hours and the PSN store froze on me at least five times in a row. Also, the browser based PSN store was down completely.I like how people complain about Nintendo specifically when Steam has been absolute hell yesterday.
Oh and btw, because of the eshop downtown and large influx of japanese player using the app, pokémon bank has now been delayed. (Connection issues and server issues.)
Unacceptable, their pulling another flipnote.
