I know you're desperate for funds, but that's why you ask nicely first. Then you can resort to threats and hate-filled pm messages slurring people for not funding your project if you don't get the money you need.

It's not my project, nor am I demanding people do anything. BUT the characters are cute, and I WANT ALL OF YOU TO FUND IT.

Want - synonym for demand. Although want isn't as harshly sounding as demand. There are nicer ways of asking people; I know you're excited about it, but direct that excitement towards saying, "Please support this project; it will turn out great if we get lots of support."

If this isn't enough clarification and you still feel that at least one of your previous points are still valid, you should read the line again.

You're telling people to fund a project you're promoting because the characters are cute.

That's a terrible reason for funding something.

Also, telling me that you "want me to fund it" because of a silly reason is incredibly off-putting. Hilarious, but off-putting.
