When I checked my eBay messages this morning I found this. The guy has marked payment as sent. I take both PayPal and direct deposit. The bank isn't open just yet, but PayPal doesn't say they have received payment. I find it hard to believe that somebody with 648 feedback, including a good amount of seller feedback doesn't know how to use a computer and instead needs to contact me via telephone. I have not called him yet.

As some of you may know I've been scammed on eBay before and so I'm trying to handle this situation with extreme care.

I say talk to him and see what he says. Maybe he has paid using eCheck and the money hasn't been transferred from his bank yet, or something like that.
Just don't send anything out until you can confirm you have received payment and you're golden.

If he wants to know if he paid or not, he can check his bank.

I say it sound fishy.

Email him (do not give him your phone number), and do not call him.
If he can not even read an email, what is he doing on eBay anyway?

Honestly, customers sometimes screw up and lose track of things, I've had it happen before. Give him the benefit of the doubt, wait 24-48 hours, and then if nothing happens, report the transaction.

I've sent him the email shown in the screenshot along with a screenshot of the message he sent me via eBay as an attachment. Now I'm left waiting for his response. There is absolutely no way I'm going to talk to him on the phone.

What strikes me as very ODD is that he is assumedly able to communicate via the EBay messaging system, yet he insists on being called... Fishy.

When the seller wanted me to "email" her she actually meant eBay message her. Once I figured that out I sent her a message saying my phone isn't working and she hasn't paid. After that I got a message from her saying that she's contacted eBay and I need to send her another invoice in order to pay for the item. I sent her the invoice, she paid and I posted the item with tracking. I've been given positive feedback for the transaction so its fairly safe to assume all is well.
