A NNID can get banned on miiverse and the NNID network, a whole lot less of penis drawing people seems fine with me.

Not sure why people would want to send each other drawn penises, but ironically Nintendo proves yet again that it has a penis fetish.
Wonder why this thread still open. Even if Smealum got some exploit - he won't release it to public. Unless you can offer him money for public release and he may agree on that, which won't happen

Why does everyone say "if he found an exploit" ?
He uses the same exploit that gateway uses (MSET) in the DS profile settings.
Even in his videos, he launches his hacks the same way you would launch Gateway mode.....
People keep saying he won't release anything when he himself said (probably even in this very thread) that he would but only after it's in a useable state and some anti -piracy measures are put in. That last fact alone loses my interest right away,but it's nice for all those homebrew coders out there to start with making some cool 3D apps
Several people have noted that unlike the GBA and DS era we now have many, often more powerful, open handheld platforms to code for with things like Android being the obvious one. Indeed android and IOS put a fairly large dent in DS homebrew development.

I don't think so! There are smartphones already with more overall graphic and processing power than the 3DS. Doesn''t help JXD finally got things right with their newest handhelds. Plus there is the gcw zero and the other person behind pandora (not craig) has stated in the future there will be a an successor device. With many alternatives with & w/o gaming controls, the point of hacking the 3DS seems to have died down to a very select few.
Yeah I know there are a lot more systems to homebrew on, but I think its more of a challenge anyways, Get the 3DS cracked wide open and let people homebrew/do with it what they want.. Maybe do some interesting 3D things, 3D movie players maybe..
Some cool things like that, but even then just having it open for the sake of the constant battles with Nintendo which (Obviously with a legitimate reason and I don't blame them a bit for trying 100% to safeguard their console) at the moment is teetering on the edge, I would love to form a team with even just one more person and work on learning the 3DS and maybe even finding a crack in the defenses.
But I am not like Smealum, I am no genius at this kind of thing and I only understand the basics of reverse engineering and can just read and use/modify things in ollyDBG (Still learning), so of course it's more of a learning process for me then a direct "I know what i'm doing and am going to crack it" effort, I've been reading a lot of documents from ARM and other places about the ARM11 In the 3DS and have so many things I want to bounce off of people.
If anyone's interested in possibly bricking their 3DS with me and go crazy from reading a shit ton of boring PDFs, I'm totally down for a partnership, Feel free to PM me.
