Hacking Wii resets after clicking on letterbomb

Hi.

problem is letter bomb is show up in letters but when i click on it, screen gets dark for 1 or 2 seconds and Wii restarts(channels show up).

what should I do?
device have a neo gamma but it can't play backups.
there is no HBC on device so I can't fix IOS and cIOSs.

Are you using a Wii U or an actual Nintendo Wii. If you are using Letterbomb in vWii mode it won't work.

-do a Full Format (not a quick format) letting your SD Card in FAT (or fat16) and cluster size 32kb
-Make a Letterbomb again and make sure you put your mac address correctly
-Put the files on the SD and try again

If FAT16 + cluster 32kb didn't work for you, try others combinations
FAT16 + Cluster size 64kb
FAT32 + Cluster size 32kb
FAT32 + Cluster Size 64kb

Letterbomb doesn't get sent to your SD card... you enter in your Mac address on the website and it sends you a message. Then you open up the message and follow the instructions; no SD card needed.

Edit: The only files you should have on your SD card is the boot.elf and the private folder. Everything else should be gone, preferably copied to your computer. After you've finished the Letterbomb, that's when you put the HBC on your card. Double post; someone report the previous one and have it removed. I'll find out why these buttons aren't working for me.

This is false info. You enter your mac address and the file it creates you place on your SD in the instructed location. You dont get "sent any messages" you place a message that is specific to your wii's mac address in the relavent place for your wii to recognise a message specifically for it.

Wrong. Besides the wii message board service is now offline so how would it work? It uses the SD card.

I didn't know the system was offline. All I remember is opening the envelope and following the instructions listed. I didn't put anything on my SD card or copy anything to it. In fact, I didn't even put my card in. But I suppose if the messaging system is offline, then this wouldn't work and it must be put on the card...

ModMii uses a letterbomb-type of SD method to get the homebrew channel installed without the Wii having to be online at all.

No message is sent to the wii all files are placed on the SD message included.

I hacked 3 Wii's just 2 weeks ago and had this same issue on one of them. I found that the Date/Time was way off (by 3 years) and caused the black screen/reboot when trying to use Letterbomb. I corrected the Date/Time and was able to use letterbomb again, this time with no issue. Hopefully that helps you as well.
