So they lost money 2 years in a row after making money for how long?

Please compare that to the Xbox brand and Sony and show me how Nintendo is headed for impending doom?

There are several factors at play, who wants to go in to those details, not me.

Nintendo has plenty of cash to where having a couple of losses is not that big of a deal. It is not as though their consoles were money pits. Wii sales slowed down but it still made plenty of money overall.

The second year of losing money was less than the first year. (I looked in to it a little and I see their Net Income was actually positive for the most recent year after the one year of being negative...whatever the case it is not as if Nintendo is about to collapse or anything of the sort. "Nintendo's net income was positive for 2013, improving from a shortfall of 43 billion yen ($430 million) to a surplus of 7 billion yen ($70 million).")

Historically Nintendo losing money was a big surprise however. Sony losing money and Xbox losing money is not.

Ands it funny how people dismiss other machines...mp3 doesnt play....but the wii u doesnt play mp3's either, right?

Did the Original Wii ever claim to be able to play MP3 Music on its official software? Nope.

However, what about Xbox 360 and PS3? Ah yes, they did so.

Your "logic" if you have any is flawed, as always, Paul Lee.

FYI, it certainly did. The original photo channel could play MP3 files until they updated it and replaced MP3 support with AAC. That may have seemed like a backwards step but it makes sense when you consider the main aim of the photo channel is to handle content saved on SD cards by smartphones.

Ditching MP3 for AAC is a step forward, NOT backward.

MP3 is an old method of encoding audio. AAC was designed to replace both MP3 and AC3.

I'm still skeptical on AAC, I want to believe :P
Technically AAC is getting old too. OPUS is designed to replace AAC and Vorbis, although OPUS still needs time to refine its encoder for coding efficiency. Right now OPUS is only used if you want low delay.

To test out AAC download LameXP and Nero AAC encoder. You can also use foobar2000 instead of LameXP.

Foobar2000 is actually pretty cool software :P

I found something as well ;)

The differences, esp at low bit rates is pretty distinguishable

*Walks in*
*Read paulee123 's ignorant derailing "comments"*
*Laugh*

You sounds like you just came from 4chan/YouTube's comment section.
if you say so.
the wii u is a failure thats my look on it, now people can tell me mario pikmin....nintendo only made da machine for die hards etc, who needs 3rd party games when u got nintendo exclusives, wii never claimed to have mp3 playback(?) i guess is all down to opinion.

though the fact is it has been out sold in the UK since it came out nov 2012 till now, by 2 new machines in their 1st week is that not alarming?
i guess to some people its not.

So technically it can't, again.

I'm not confused or anything, you're just trying to make shit up for people to get annoyed but unfortunately you're unable to do so.
