Get this,

I just updated my EmuNAND, and transfered my SD Card contents backup back to the SD card.

The next thing, after I chose to boot Gateway EmuNAND: No dice. Gray screen + lines.
I'm stuck with having to reformat the EmuNAND.

Guys watch out, don't overwrite files while wanting to retrieve Mii data ;)

HOWEVER: If you put back your data immediatly after formatting EmuNAND, everything is okay and working :)

I'm not sure what you tried to say but, these apps should be run on classic mode and not the regular gateway mode.

The point more or less is don't put back a backup of your SD card. It crashes EmuNAND.

Why? did you try on classic mode?
Gateway has had issues with some 3DS apps since the beginning, so booting them on classic mode should fix this problem.

So, the problem was fixed by copying back the backed up files to the SD card before the first attempt of booting emuNAND?

Yep, guess it lies in the extdata being created when booting with an empty sd card. Sounds logical, too. 3DS creates ticket which contains filehash, copy back old data thus filehash is wrong thus system corrupts.

The gray screen and lines is probably just a random glitch, a lot of people encounter it occasionally. Likely entirely unrelated to what you are suggesting causes it.

Has anyone else had a problem copying all data backed up from SD card before formatting to emuNAND back to the post-emuNAND SD card? Be it Streetpass or otherwise?

Why would Streetpass cause issues but none of the other data/backed up apps copied back to the SD card?

Really? Nobody else tried to put their Streetpass data back?

Or just nobody else had a problem doing it...
