Has anyone here pondered the possibility of making a version of New Super Mario Bros U for the Wii. I mean replacing the backgrounds of New super Mario Bros Wii with those of the Wii U game and editing things where needed. I'm sure some characters from the Wii U game would have to be replaced with appropriate Wii models but technically, since this is a 2D (mostly) game, it should be easier than the"Brawl into Melee" mods.

Pretty sure that the polycount alone would make the Wii version cry and beg for mercy, you'd have to downscale the models to an acceptable polycount first, resulting in an ass-looking game. :P

Well Obviously we wouldn't use the Wii U character models but I'd imagine that whatever background stuff that is in 3D would have to be turned into a 2D drawing, re-modeled or nixed.

not worth the effort man. Just buy a Wii U and the game.

Exactly that. I'm sure that some crazy-ass enthusiasts will create some silly conversions since NSMB hacks are the second most common kind trailing after the putrid mess of Pokemon ROM hacks, but a full conversion is not worth the effort.
