Gaming What is the cheapest and good GBA flash cart for DS Lite?

Please let me know, I don't want to use my own GBA cartridges because they don't go all the way in to the DS Lite rather than they stay partially outside of the console.

Plus, I can play more GBA games and not carry the carts around unnecessarily.

That is your best bet right there: EZ Flash 3 in 1.

wth, i never heard about this, is this really true?

It does not have a microSD slot, a link cable, a cradle or something like that to put data on. This pretty much leaves you with only transferring via something stored on the DS slot as the means to use it.

Sure you can burn a single game to the NOR via a single session on a DS and have it work in anything that runs GBA carts until some part on it dies but that is mightily annoying if you wanted to do serious damage to the GBA library, especially if you are used to the easier side of things people had with DS flash carts and later GBA carts.

As DS slot carts store nice amounts of data, are quite happy to write to and otherwise manage all the needs of the cart and the libraries/access protocols were open sourced (and homebrew and loaders got abilities to use them) it pretty much means if you want to have anything resembling a good time and play more than a single game without a 7 minute wait every time you are going to need a DS and a DS flash cart.

and how about the ez iv? does it have a sd slot?

It has a miniSD slot in the main form you will find nowadays and a microSD in the others (there are three others, do not get an EZ4 lite compact if you want to play GBA games).

As such basically everything happens on the miniSD/windows/whatever side and you do not need a DS.

Oh and if you are getting a miniSD one you are strongly encouraged to get an actual miniSD rather than an adapter. Said adapters have caused many issues for would be EZ4 users, miniSD are hard to find (second hand mobile phone shops are a good place to look) but you can still get them.

For the microSD ones it is microSD -- no SDHC (basically anything 4 gigs or above).

Ah, thanks so if this works I don't need to get the EZ Flash IV card then.

I'm still new to this DS Lite Homebrew stuff but I just want it for the basic (GBA & DS games).

DSTT & a 3in1 combo work fine thats what I use, RetroGameFan's updates have meant that just about all ds games run on it (I have not had one that doesnt work)

and the Exploader works fine on the DSTT also

EZ3n1 is a great companion to flash cards with build in EZ3n1 support. On carts that don't support that kind of integration, you can still use EZ3n1 via an NDS app/homebrew.

If the game battery in the EZ3n1 dies, you'll start to have a difficult time of saving your game/backing it up on your slot1 cart, and games that rely on a clock don't work correctly either. Also you can't play/use special features of some GBA games like games with built in tilt, rumble, light sensor, etc...

EZ Flash IV is the best one that you can currently buy. It uses NAND flash. I looked it up. Highest compatability out of any that are currently being manufactured.

Otherwise get a Supercard DSTWO.

I agree with Amber Lamps. Get a DSTWO instead. Not only does it get frequent updates, but it lets you emulate GBA Games as well as SNES games on a slot 1 device. You can put everything you need on it, DS games, GBA, SNES games as well as other media.

It's a bit pricey though.

While the Ez Flash IV is a good solution, they're kinda hard to come by (or at least, they were a few months back when I started peeling for them...). The unit is also pretty expensive, too. The DSTwo can definitely get the job done, but it has its inaccuracies, definitely.

Did ether of you guys read the thread, He only has a DSLite so really he doesnt need a DSTwo especially since he wants to play GBA Games also the EZ4 is expensive and you can accidently kill it with a DSLite if it decides too (trying to use the cart and load roms from ds flash card menu rather than itself), why emulate GBA when it clearly has a slot for it and a 3 in 1 will at least be the ultimate item for his slot 2

Ok then just get an EZ Flash IV because it is elite. The only better card than that is the M3 Perfect which I do actually own one of but they haven't made those in years. No flash cards have rtc in them these days so if he gets EZ Flash IV or the 3 in 1, neither will have rtc.

EZF4 will stick out of the slot, 3in1 won't.
