You're not possessed.
You're just having trouble sleeping correctly.

Why not drink warm milk/herbal tea before you're off to bed.
Lay off any drinks that contain caffeine.

I usually have them 3-5 in the morning (6 hours after I go to sleep); I wouldn't doubt if this is stress related but it's also possible that it's because I have upped my caffeine intake for school.

I have recently started taking melatonin for the last 2 and a half months so I can get to bed early but last night I didn't take any.

I was joking about the possessed part

Could very well be.
I'd say quit the caffeine and sleep more.

Well, you might be joking but the next fella might take it entirely seriously and start typing a complete exorcism for you ;p

I've had so many sleep paralysis episodes in the last few years that it doesn't really induce as much fear into me anymore.

The bizarre and messed up part of these last two times; I fall back into REM sleep.

So it's like I open my eyes and get quick glimpse of what is actually in front of me, try moving my fingers and rubbing my hand on the bed. It doesn't work and I realize it's a sleep paralysis episode (I keep calm because if I get even the slightest hint of fear, I start seeing paranormal things which I know my mind does). Then I hear an absurdly loud noise and I begin to REM sleep. I have what feels like a short 30-45 second dream where I absolutely know I am dreaming. Usually it's in the same room but I can move so I know I am dreaming. I wake up still in sleep paralysis for another 5 seconds and then hear the same absurd loud noise to fall back to sleep.

Last night and the night a few weeks ago were almost identical; I would go through 5-6 cycles of this. Last night it went on so long that I was trying to wake myself up and move around. After so many failed attempts (I talked to myself in my dream, it sounded exactly like me) told me something I don't really remember but it woke me up.

Being awake when sleep paralysis occurs can be caused by many factors, high stress, sleeping in a supine position (on your back), screwed up circadian rhythms, etc.The paralytic state is actually part of the sleep cycle, you enter it during REM, it's a mechanism to protect the body from getting hurt. What's happening is your body is still half-asleep when you enter it. If you are truly concerned, then by all means, see a doctor. Caffeine is a stimulant and will cause your body to be in a more alert state making it harder to fall asleep regularly, it can seriously mess up your biological clock. iIf you can, reduce the intake.

Question.
A while back you posted a thread on learning to do lucid dreaming and/or how you had already got somewhere in the matter.

Such things are not unheard of in combination.

That's the thing, most of my caffeine intake is in the morning unless I have a project which then I usually have a small cup, but usually these episodes are a few hours when I am supposed to wake up.

Definitely; the sleep paralysis events are definitely intertwined with lucid dreaming (which is why I am afraid of sleep paralysis sometimes)

Like last night, I had the consciousness that I was semi awake, I realized that I couldn't move, and the entire time is like a struggle between waking up or actually falling completely asleep.

A few weeks ago I was bit by a spider and I woke up in panic and threw it off of me somewhere in my dark room. I couldn't find it so I decided to sleep outside my room (due to phobia of spiders). I laid down on the couch and maybe 2 hours later I woke up and quickly realized I was in a sleep paralysis state; I do the usual try to move my fingers and hands and then had a small REM dream of me getting up and walking around the house a bit, I woke back up in sleep paralysis state to my sister's dog licking my face (my sister's little dog usually hangs around the couch at night) so I think I was doing something to attract attention. But my sister's dog being there (with anyone else physically being there during a sleep paralysis episode has never happened) and it freaked me out a little bit. So then I had a sense of fear and of fucking course a lady pop's up and tries attacking me.

Anyways; I lost where I was going with that. But in my sleep paralysis state, it feels like I can control the distance between being awake (still in a paralysis state) and being in a REM sleep. There is a between where I am looking at real visuals through the small glimpse in my eyes and being able to manipulate my senses. Last night I was sleeping on a water bed, so when I woke up I looked at the waterbed and I thought I felt myself moving as the bed is very reactive to movement. While I couldn't see my hand, it felt as if my hand was touching the water in the bed and I was relaxed. I tried to focus on everything how the water in the bed should feel and the more I focused the more it became real. So in a sleep paralysis/semi conscious state, I think it's very easy to manipulate the mind but at the same time I needed to remain calm because then I start inducing panic and the things I think end up seeming real.
