I would assume it works, but if you are using it on a Wii u make sure you use a usb y cable with it.

Yeah +1 for the y cable with any external that doesn't use an external power supply itself. You need more powa

Very likely, and yes , use that one only without worrying about hubs and other nonsense.
I can't speak on that particular model, but my 1tb WD 3.0 HDD worked after some tinkering. Make sure to format the HDD properly, and from experience, use a WBFS partition instead of FAT32.

ye it should work fine. and i would advise using a fat32 partition it makes less clutter and everything is running from one partition to save any confusion with any loaders you may use..... especially wiiflow it doesnt like partitions to much

Never had any luck getting Toshiba hdd's (OR SD CARDS) to function properly on wii, not in 6 years and hundreds of wii's later. Hitachi hard drives are just as unreliable for the wii. Please try to do some research first before just taking everyone's word (I am not saying that they are wrong and I am right or vice versa,) in regards to this. If anything, you should be getting a 2tb hard drive, not a one. 2tb are just too cheap to be wasting money on 1tb hard drives... and stay away from wbfs format like the guy a couple of posts above me said. Use fat32 or ntfs (preferably fat32 if you want to use it for GC games in the future or if it will be swapped between a wii and wii u.)

Never use a WBFS partition. It randomly corrupts games when you add new ones, can't be used for GC games and there is no corruption protection whatsoever.

Hmm. Upon closer look the reviews for it on amazon aren't so great. I also found this one.

It's $10 more. But western digital seems to be more reliable. What do you think?

Dont use wbfs, really outdated. Pretty sure theres a wbfs to fat32 conveter laying around somewhere if u want.
