How does that work? I was gonna do my credit card company reimbursement on recent price change, but if they allow some post discount at Target, that would be easier. How does it work? I got my Target XL the other week so I think I'm within the eligible time period.

And target deal is most probably black XL only, I found this in a site as well as Quicksilver told me. I will still try my luck in target online if I can't get via ebay.

Went back to the target I got my recent 2012 XL, and looked at the demo blu/black XL. It was still 4.5 fw. Lol. Guess thäs no surprise since mine from there was 4.4

I talked to a guy at Target about the price reimbursement, and he said it will be suspended for BF and the following weekend. So...if that's true, how will u get the $50 refund?

I asked about it and the one here said that they would do that for specific products. And the 3ds xl was one of those.

edit: or it may just be because the guy i asked is a friend of mine and he'd be willing to pull some strings for me.

I guess it's because he's a friend, but I found this on targets website. Looks like BF isn't eligible for adjustment:
Ad exclusions:

Items advertised as limited time/limited supply/limited quantity.
Black Friday ads (including adjusting prices for previously purchased items).

Picked out a blue with (C)2012 on the box - other than being blue it looked just like in the picture on the Gateway FAQ. The device inside looked untouched, but the firmware was 6.01.XX (don't remember the rest). So I returned it.

The 2012 box for FW under 5.0, is ONLY for identifying USA models. It's been shown that any non-USA retail box that says "copyright 2012" can NOT be guaranteed a 4.X firmware. (UK region 2012 boxes have been found to have 5.x and various FW)

ALL USA retail boxes from 2012 have so far been GW ready firmware. (unless it was repackaged by the store, and resold)

Ricky, is the box a USA/NTSC box, or another region? Your country listed here in the forums is not USA, so I would guess that the above data is still correct.

It's a USA box, bought at a Target in Dallas. Looked identical to this pic from the FAQ, other than the fact that it was blue. Even said the same stuff about China and the Philippines.

I just bought another 3DSXL Silver Copyright 2012 on laybuy atm at Kmart in AUS so hopefully this will be a 4.5 Unit. i bought a RED XL there with the same copyright and it was a 4.4 Unit. Fingers crossed its compatible

I was lurking over Ebay.com for nearly a month to get one at good price & asked many sellers about firmware version or to reduce bidding time, few days ago a seller bided his/her used mariocart bundle with his/her secondary id & made it like 215$+ bcs I was humbly asked if the person could sell it privately...!!! Stupid person replied me saying that the person got bidder(pure horseshit)...:/
I would love to advice anyone to keep away from ebay.com seller. But would advice for ebay.co.uk, ebay.de & ebay.fr for any goods as European ebayer are more friendly & not cheater like ebay.com as well as if you have any defective goods or anything happened to your goods the ebay will personally refund it as soon as you file a claim like 2/3 hours to 2/3 days max. While USA ebay doesn't refund anything personally as well as people might get refund via the seller like 2-3 weeks or months who knows. There are also complains about bad packaging of Sellers in ebay.com while people paid premium prices for shipping. Overall its a mess/nightmare there.
