So, someone just bought my 3DS plus games or at least for $150 (not as much as I'd like, but a crap load more than Best Buy and Gamestop would ever get for it). The question now is, what exactly is the process or protocol that should be followed to ensure this dude gets it promptly? He doesn't live too far, in fact, he lives in the next state over, so distance isn't an issue. Obviously the money does show up in PayPal as processing or something like that, and I need to print a label for the box and tape that sucker on there. All I can say is, that was pretty dang fast, seeing as I posted the ad this morning and yes, it's the first time I actually placed an ad, I just want to ensure it goes as smoothly as possible.

Once it processes in PayPal, it goes to my bank account correct? Do I need to wait for it to process before I ship it to make sure the money goes through? Again, just don't want anything to you know, go wrong, to make sure he gets it ASAP :P

You have to manually move it from paypal to your bank account, which can take around 5 business days. You're likely going to have to fork out the money on your own to ship it, knowing that it's soon to be transferred into your bank account.

It's only about $10, which isn't too shabby. I take it it's pretty simple to transfer?

its simple to transfer , but theres a charge for certain amounts , i think its less than £50 here in the UK , not sure if the US has same costs.

For $150? I don't think it's that high.

https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/paypal-fees

2.9% plus $0.30 if that, but transfers aren't any more, so it was $150 but it's $145 due to said fees.

Edit: "Funds withdrawn must not exceed your available balance."

The hell? I see that the money is "there" but I can't transfer it?

There is usually a 30 day wait before you can transfer funds (fraud protection) before you become a trusted ebay seller then you can transfer funds asap
once the person gives you a good review it will speed up the process and free up the funds

It can take up to that long to finish pending (but it may be sooner). Whoops. Okay! That would explain the confusion :P See, still new to this crap, wasn't sure how it worked, but makes more sense now. I'll ship it today so he gets it this week and I can get my money. The other issue I'm faced with is the shipping label. It tells me I need to know the weight, which I don't know, so how can I print the label?

Can't I go to the FedEX store and they provide an empty envelop or box for me and then slap on the label?

I bought myself a little scale for this reason :P printing your own labels usually requires you to know the weight of the package. You could always go grab a flat rate box (the box is free, shipping is about 12 for a medium size if you can fit that stuff in one) and it'll be priority speed (so a satisfied customer c; )

You can go have it weighed, have them make the label, and just input the tracking number into ebay later, though.

So I don't have to print them from there, but I can bring the device and games to FedEx and do it from there instead?

Did you only set it as buy it now and not an an auction?

Probably why it sold so fast

Eh, most likely, I didn't sell it high enough obviously and can't really do anything about that now :P My own damn fault really. Thank goodness I didn't go the minimum price eBay "recommended" lol. Again, I'm not an avid eBay seller and it's the first time I actually posted an ad on there, so no, I didn't it seems. If I try to contest the results, I'll get a bad rating for sure, not that it would do any good. That's what I get for being a noob to eBay.

Yup, I'm an idiot.

Edit: Should I ask the seller if he's willing to pay more?

Oooh, what kind of scale did you purchase? I usually ballpark the weights and it might save a bit to be accurate...

Any suggestions as to what I can do to let the person who bid on the item, like, at all? If I cancelled/relisted it, I'd get bad feedback for sure and be reported. Should I email the person and ask him if he can pay more? Again, very green to eBay and I feel like I made a mistake in the whole-forgetting-to-enabled-auctioning etc. It's listed for five more days, but yeah...

Can nothing be done to cancel his bid, refund the money, re-list it for a higher price and send an apology?

That is unfortunately on you. I can't help you there, and I did tell you that you would be eating a little bit in fees at the end of it all. It's usually like 8-9% fees and then you get an overall amount. Asking someone to pay more is on you. I would highly suggest NOT to, though. I've been doing that for years, and you should learn that you need to account these things ahead of time in your pricing.

I don't mind the fees, they're not the issue, I just didn't know that it wouldn't be an Buy it Now instead of both that and an auction style sale, because I put a starting price on there as well. What about cancelling it and letting him know it was a mistake and apologize?

Sure can, just make sure to at least get a tracking number, ebay doesnt like it when you only "mark as shipped" and that way the buyer can't lie and say it never arrived. (It happens with eBay, unfortunately.)

About the asking for a higher price deal... I would just take what you got for it, seems like a lot of trouble and seems kind of low to do that to the buyer, to be honest... But I could understand I guess.

Even if I negotiated with him via PM? Yes, I should have listed it at a higher price but I didn't
