Hacking Gateway 3DS Team Response to Clones and 2.0 update

While yes, they're clearly copying Gateway, that doesn't mean they have no skill. It's wholly possible that the clone company/companies end up implementing features Gateway doesn't have/won't have. It's not likely, but still possible.

While clone fanboys are annoying, so are Gateway fanboys. The people who assume the cloners are stupid/incapable are just as wrong as those who assume Gateway is stupid/incapable. Give it some time before the actual cards come out.

And in regards to the DRM notion... no. First of all, Gateway is proof that DRM doesn't necessarily mean squat. Second, Gateway should be focused on making sure their customers are happy, not making sure the clone buyers are unhappy. All DRM would do is make it harder/impossible to copy their new update, but since anyone who pays attention to this "scene" would pick Gateway until the clones prove to be better, it's not gonna affect sales on that big of a scale.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love for new teams to get on the scene and make some new hacks, whether better than Gateway or not. The problem I have is that these clones are blatantly just ripping off Gateway, if they were doing their own work and adding new features themselves, I wouldn't have the slightest problem.

BTW. i think DRM is used wrongly here. I think GateWay is not really in a position to claim rights anyway in this situation

Yeah exactly right. A company that makes products to run counterfeit software implementing anti-counterfeiting measures.

Nothing good will come out of this.

Instead of calming their tits they could focus on work and push new firmware, but no, they choose to go for emo mode.

On other hand, they just did nice promo for 3DsLink and R4i. What can be better

The wait shouldn't be very long now. We can't give a date yet as we want to make
sure that just like our past firmware, this new one, and the ones coming after,
are 100 working with all consoles we support. This takes a lot of intensive
testing.
Once testing is complete, we will release the firmware, and of course you will
be informed.

urh dur, they said they were working on it, don't you know the proverb ? Don't sell the bear's skin before you killed it, they don't want people to believe stuffs that could not happen, now keep calm or buy a 4.5 3DS, not like those are rare or anything...

Have you ever heard of something called 'lie'(they obviously want to avoid the files to end up in the hands of the cloner teams) , Also maybe they have internal beta testers, beta test doesn't mean going through internet spreading files to everyone and them not sending bug reports as they mainly are here only for previous access right ?

R4i wont do it, R4i are just opportunists who did small reverse engineering on Gateway and managed to make their code work on their shitty cheap hardware, they obviously are here only for the money, challenge doesn't seem to interest them...
