Ever use music/pop culture to mock people?

Funny story for you folks. About 8 years ago I was involved with a girl named Charlotte. Long story short, things went sour, she cheated on me, we broke up, she pestered me for a while after realizing what a huge fuck up it was, but we eventually went our separate ways. Well, the story didn't end there. She tracked me down a while back and is now...brace yourselves for this...a guy by the name of Alex. I want it on record she was definately female when we were together, ok? But I expect mocking over this so go ahead.. And that brings me to the subject of this debate.

Every time she/he/it is mentioned, my friends mock me by playing Aerosmith's Dude Looks Like a Lady, which has totally ruined that song for me. I in turn use music in certain situations to mock my friends, like my trick of changing my brother in law's ringtone to something undeniably gay (I have no problem with homosexuals, want that on record, this is a joke I do), such as 'In the Navy', 'Go West', 'YMCA', etc, then wait until he's hitting on a hot girl and drop-call his phone. Does anyone else use music or similar tricks to mock people? If so, what do you use? What songs, in what situations? Or is this just something my little group of oddballs does?

Playing songs, not so much as music used in this manner involves too much effort. The main exception to this is somewhere when a DJ is present or things can be planned in advance. If people bother to get married these days (usually to move to somewhere where such bits of paper are valued) then the music choices there tend to raise eyebrows, funerals are equally likely to have such things happen.

Quoting lyrics completely straight faces, you bet.
Favourites.... god squad in the pub one day and predictably we (as in the tables composed of a lot of the regulars plus the landlords) were all taking the piss mercilessly.

To their credit one of them worked up either enough stones, decided they were not an acceptable target of mockery or forgot themselves for long enough to approach and attempt to chastise the bunch of yobs (ages from 20 to 60) that formed that crowd.
"You can't say that"

The return saw some faux intellectual garbage along the lines of "there was once a great philosopher called Mr Mercury, a piece of his wisdom ran something alone the lines of "I don't believe in Peter Pan, Frankenstein or Superman"."

With many associates being great fans of punk then there are of course many options for this.

Sadly nobody really gets embarrassed any more (your examples would not bother me in the slightest if they had happened to me) so most of the time it devolves into what can only be described as embarrassment chicken/one upsmanship, such a thing usually only serving to amuse friends that know the game and turn those in earshot (a circle usually about as large as it can be without being obvious) what can only be described as beetroot red.

What a plot twist.

Yeah, I'll be honest, that one did freak me out a bit. She/he/it felt the need to explain the choice to me, even though we'd been broken up the best part of a decade at this point. I was like 'Good for you' but all I could think was 'And I need to know all about your hormone replacement therapy because...?'

Not to go all white knight here but that's a fucking terrible thing to say. If a person identifies as male they are male.

How many times did you die in this story by the way?

Not once. The relationship between me and Charlotte began and ended long before my health problems began. And since you have only a fraction of the story, save your judgmental bullshit for someone who cares, okay?

My "judgmental bullshit" was you referring to a human being as "it". Which is a really terrible thing to do especially when the reasoning for calling this person "it" was a gender change.

Yes, you're right. I should be totally understanding towards someone who cheated on me twice since I did the whole white knight thing when I let the first one slide, then suddenly realised she'd fucked up and thought the best way to get back in my good graces was to annoy me for the next 5 years, even going as far as using her position as an Orange employee to hack into my contract details and illegally acquire my new number to annoy me, which cost her the job. Look, I've done the whole knight in shining armour thing here. I was understanding, I was as reasonable as you can realistically expect me to be. But I'm still a human being. I'm not going to be all nice nice to someone who completely fucked me over. And not even for the pretty boy. If she'd have slept with James behind my back, I'd still have been pissed but at least there would have been some degree of logic to it. Rob looks like Kyle from Road Trip. If he'd been run over with a steamroller than a plane had crashed into his splattered remains. So yeah, I'm still a little bitter about it, ok? Forgive me for making jokes to make it a little easier on me.

Yes your personal grudge is definitely a reason for essentially a slur against that person.

I'll make sure to toss around the N-word a couple of times when I argue with a black guy, but it's not racist guys I have a reason.

I have no issue with you being mean towards this fictional totally real person but at least say they're made of garbage or are a big lump of shit.

Also you need to stop trying to disguise every post as a blog. We have a blog kind gentlesir, I'll tip my fedora in the direction of it.

Our euphoric blogs.

She cheated on you years ago.
You should let go of it really.

Also, who cares if she's an MtF or FtM.
She's still a person.

I also don't like it if people refer to me as "it" ._.
I'm not some kind of monster, thank you very much.
How'd you feel if people refer to you as "it" instead of him?

Never intended this as a blog. If you read the first post you'll see I posed a question because I was intrigued to see if anyone else used music the way me and my friends do. This only became blog territory when you started your traditional show of no faith. I don't know for absolute certain that you don't write every post you make here with a carrot rammed so far up your arse you can taste it. But I don't go about insulting you at every turn. If you don't believe what I have to say, don't read it. Nobody forced you to read this, or even to be on the site. And if your idea of entertainment is to come here and annoy me over some pretty nonsensical crap, then I feel sorry for you.

Also, I at no point intended the comment to be an insult to all transgender people. It's aimed at my ex and only my ex. It's none of my concern what other people do with their bodies, the only reason I even referenced this particular instance of gender reassignment is because it was relevant to the question. I have nothing against transgender people, just my ex. I was minding my own business, getting on with my life when she contacted me to let me know, saying she felt I had the right to know. Even though we'd not spoken for years and I was perfectly happy with that arrangement. If I offended anyone other than my ex with that statement, I do apologize as that wasn't my intent. It was poorly worded on my part.

I assume that was a request for a photo of my ex, and no, I don't have one. Not of his current appearance anyway. Might be an old photo on my old netbook hard drive, but back when he was still she, she did ask nicely that I not post that photo anywhere. I might be a jerk but I did make a promise back then, I might as well honour it.

but you know what you should do? find yourself a ladyboy and fuck her. that should even things out.

Nah, I'm good fucking my fiancée, thanks. Who I assure you is 100% woman and has no plans to change that any time soon. Although the big breakup and the cheating happened in college, and to be fair there was that incident in the lift between me and the supposedly lesbian hottie of the class who turns out is certainly not a lesbian. Ex girlfriend soon got word that I'd nailed someone significantly better looking within a couple of weeks, I'm inclined to call it even to be honest.
