PS Vita Firmware 3.00 released today

Sony have released a video showing off some of the new features coming in the Vita 3.00 update.
PS4 remote play, panoramic photos and wifi file transfer are just some of the new features coming with the update.

I'm lucky that this "Play Duration" was not avaliable on my Snes on 1991. My parenst would have slashed all my gameplay hours at that time
Now that I'm the parent, I find this option somewhat usefull, even that my kids dont like my Vita at all.
Besides that, only unusefull shit. PS4 integration was already annouced long ago, so no surprises here.

go to [System Settings]->[System]->[Auto Start Settings]
UNTICK [Download Update Files for System Software]

so you will NOT Download the FW update automatically

I did notice that they changed some of the wording on remote play for PS4 now... Now they claim -some- games will work with it.

Watch it be about as many that worked with Remote play on the PS3....

I'm sure they have said games that use peripherals like the camera and PS Move won't work, which is obvious. I expect like 95% of games will work and all first party titles.
I can't wait to try it with Killzone on release day!

Also, Sony improved the speed in PS3's remote play if anyone's interested.

Nope. You'll need a Vita TV for that and even then Vita TV does not support most games.

The panorama photo feature is neat, but they could have given us an option of capturing floors and ceilings as well. As for the rest of the changes, I don't really care. PS Vita really suffers from the lack of content. Demos (!!!), apps, and trailers are far too few. If only we could install demos and applications from other regions, but noo-hoo-hoo, we can't!

Edit: Turns out the panoramic pictures can be taken in several modes, one of them being omnidirectional! Woo-hoo! I've got my kitchen in my pocket!

For right now it doesn't but games have been getting patches for Vita TV capability lately in Japan.
