Hardware New 3DS XL loose frame/back panel

I bought a brand new 3DS XL recently and I've noticed that on one side, right under the left side of the screen hinge, the front and back pieces of the shell aren't together as closely as they could be. When I squeeze near the volume control theres like a 3mm space that closes with a squeak. I havent been able to find any info online about this and everytime I search online for other people with the issue, all that comes up is people having issues with their battery cover which I've removed and confirmed has nothing to do with my issue. I can actually SEE the two shell pieces move together and apart.

Anyone else has this kind of issue or know how to fix it? At this point I'm actually contemplating taking my 3DS apart and trying to find a loose screw or something.

Seeing as you've recently bought it new, get it replaced, as i'm sure i would if it was mine & there was a problem with it.

2 of my five are like that i'd say it's pretty normal.
one of my four wii u gamepads are the same way.

I've already System transferred and gotten everything set up. Theres no way for me to do this now. Even if I wanted to sit in a Walmart for two hours, they dont have Wifi.

Call up nintendo customer support. They'll be able to help you.

It's not normal - any gaps whatsoever on a brand new system simply mean that it's been poorly assembled. Whether it leads to any future problems or not is a whole different story, but you should be able to replace it. As far as System Transfer is concerned, I sincerely doubt that there is an electronics store somewhere out there that doesn't have in-store WiFi - the Internet is widely used by companies and I'm almost positive they too use it. Besides, if you properly explain your situation, I'm sure they'll be able to help you somehow. If not, Nintendo themselves should be able to remotely transfer your eShop licenses anyways - all you'd have to do is re-download them.
