Welcome to the forums, man; I wish you would've actually said "hi, what's goin' on, people?" Anyway, it's the second greatest Zelda game, surpassed only by Wind Waker.
Well you could've posted it in the 3DS Game Discussion forum. And you could also post a thread in the Introductions section while you're at it.
There's a DS version? Whod've thunk it. I don't keep track of what Zelda game was released on what console. I just heard it was released on the 3DS. But don't worry about this post; it'll generate some interesting comments in the future, I imagine.

About OoT: It's a important game for me and was a unique experience back in the days (it's also a good game for speedrunners..)
I don't know how special it would be for people that experience it nowadays for the first time though, since the variety of games and things alike increased a lot... ...probably on this scenario OoT would not be like "the best game of all time" (against games of today) ...but still a fun experience.

I think OoT is vastly overrated, and that there are many titles vastly more deserving of the "Greatest Ever" title. That doesn't mean it's bad, just not all that great. Then again, I'm not much of a LoZ fan at all, so take that for what you will.
I like Zelda a lot ...and for me, OoT is a fun game. ...Greatest game evar? ...No
and it not being the best is good actually ...means that games didn't stop in time, and that new better things actually appeared after it.

OOT was regarded the greatest game of its generation. There's no such thing as a greatest game of all time (except Valkyria Chronicles 1 until it is surpassed, no doubt by another VC title).
I'd say it's definitely one of my top picks for that generation. But Donkey Kong 64 was actually so much more fun and diverse...not even close to the same game, but hey.
People have a really skewed view of OOT. Either people look at it through massive, nerd style nostalgia glasses, or hate on it because it's hip to be the rebel. It's a very good, solid game for its time. Its graphics were quite good, it was a length title and it was very well made. It's obvious why it's regarded so highly, given it was also the first 3D Zelda game. It started it all, it's the origin game.
Kinda like how FF7 is regarded so highly. It's really not that great, FF8 blew it out of the water (though materia was fun) and was in the same generation, yet FF7 is the one people jerk off to. Cuz it was the first to do it.
Overall i'd still give OOT a 10/10. I beat it dozens of times and it's STILL fun to go through.

Also don't troll new members like a retard. This is why we get stuck with only having quality members like yourself until you're finally banned and go join DS-scene with the other rejects....granted I think it's dead. Just means we've been slackin' on the bans.

For me, Ocarina of Time was THE GAME that made me into a gamer. Before that, gaming was a way to pass time when I didn't feel like doing something else, or I wanted to play for a little while. As I was a kid back then, before OoT, if my mom said no when asking for permission to play video games, I'd go do something else, no questions asked. But after OoT, I'd keep asking or go ask Daddy who would let me play. I loved the puzzles and how challenging they felt, getting stuck in a room trying to figure out the thing I needed to do to get out of it. Phrase "Let's try something stupid" was used a lot back then, usually followed by tossing a bomb at a random thing in the room. And the feeling of accomplishment when you finally solved that puzzle, or finally gathered your courage to go through that very scary part and survived (I was scared of a lot of things in OoT as a kid xD ). And Adult Link was my first ever fictional character crush >~< I have lots of awesome memories of the game, and that's why it's my personal all time favourite.
