Legit question, was there a demand for this?

As a video game? Probably not, however if they manage to properly implement the Kinect with the P90X and Insanity programs, it would certainly make those programs better for some people. Trust me, having done P90X, some of the stuff in Yoga X and Cardio X are hard to do whilst watching the TV and maintaining proper form.

Oh, something to compete with Wii Fit U ;o;

but in all seriousness ...
- Form check with the Kinect sensor
- Monitored heartrate with Kinect
I'm surprised that this thing would be able to check your heart rate from across the room. That's rather impressive.

Even with that level of technology, though, I'm still not sure how much I trust it's sensors to tell me how fat I am.

FYI, Nintendo didn't invent the workout routine or the personal trainer.

This I know, but it never seemed like there was a massive demand for it. Not saying there isn't a demand for it, but maybe I just never noticed it.
I guess to each their own.

There may not be a huge demand for workout "services", but within that niche, P90X is pretty much the top dog. I wouldn't be surprised if this netted more cash than Wii Fit. Then again you can't really compare the two. Wii Fit is a game, whereas this is not. The only similarities being that they are both on a game console, and they both use a peripheral to track progress. That's where the similarities stop.

And on another note, seriously saying this is ripping off Nintendo? Really? I know I already addressed it, but seriously. Why does something similar always have to be a ripoff of the previous thing? Are you really that much of a Nintendonaut that you can't see that similar companies can have similar ideas and still be almost completely different in how it's implemented? If that was really how shit worked, Nintendo would own platformers exclusively. Like FPS games? Too bad. ID software is pretty much toast at this point. Like top-down RPGs? Uh oh. Looks like Square Enix is your only option.

Do you really want to live in a world like that? I don't. So, think about what you're calling a rip-off before you hit the post button.

Going to honest I never thought of this as a rip-off myself, I was just interested in wondering if there was demand for it. Not implying it was bad, good, ect. Now that I know there is a demand, then I am cool and off to enjoy my night.
