I mean, games are games, but... really?

Now, if this was an HD port/remake of Spider-Man 2 or Ultimate Spider-Man, that'd be something.

"As long as it's the console version and not the horrible portable version."

Am I weird in thinking that a system-that-sits-in-your-living-room version of a game can be released on a system-you-play-on-the-New-York-subway console? I refer you to something I consider to be similar to this. Why didn't they release the GameCube version of Spider-Man 2 on the GameBoy? It was a much better game in my opinion. (the GameCube one)

DUH. *facepalm* But actually I think you (unknowingly) explained what I wanted to hear. Is the PSVita as powerful as the PS3 or even the PS4?

You're the one that asked the stupid question. Your signature, paired with that question, is pushing the irony envelope a tad much, yes?

At this stage of the game, your question about the power of the PSVita is almost irrelevant. Almost. In terms of raw power, the PSV is probably on par with the PS2 or Wii. The PSV is getting a port. The PSP tended to get ports of PS2 games. This just ups the generation a bit. Theoretically, you could port The Amazing Spider Man to the Atari 2600. It won't look the same, but you "could" do it.

How the port is handled is another matter. Will it fix any bugs still present on the myriad of console versions? Will it offer new content? Will it be cross-play enabled? Does anyone actually want this?

Ports are the easy way out. New IPs and new content is what the Vita needs the most.

So yeah, I am weird in thinking that. Okay.

You don't have to answer this because it is a bit off topic, but why are they called IP's? I think people who say consoles and handhelds need new internet protocols are weird. There, I said it. But don't reply back; I don't want to (potentially) derail this thread.

It looks a lot like the android game but I understand it's a direct port of the PS3 game, so I will pick it up if it releases over here as I missed it on consoles.

You know what I wish this game was and the recent Batman game, a side scrolling beat'em up.

I think they would work beautifully on handhelds instead of a 3D/exploring type game. Hell, could you imagine Batman Animated Series from the 90's type game on the beautiful OLED screen? That would look GORGEOUS!

Granted you wouldn't be able to have the original voice actor for Joker, but Troy Baker did an amazing job.
