I really like the Pokemon Bank feature thing! GF will probably build all their uppcoming games around this feature making it very easy to access your X and Y pokemon from the next generation pokemon games and pokemon stadium like games. GF has a history of gadgety and gimicky ways to tranfer pokemon between different games in many different ways forcing you to buy, link cables, cartridge expansions for N64 controllers, wireless adaptors, more cables and sometimes a second game system in order to trade with yourself since you dont have any friends that still play pokemon... :/ Well I say its about time they created a service like this that could be adapted into any future game they come up with..

Idea: They could store to the SD card for free saving themselves a lot of time and effort in the process. Future games would be able to access that SD card file easier than a Cloud Service.

True, but they would not be able to regulate and check who uses hacked pokemon if the app accessed the SD card instead of the cloud. Those cloud servers are maintained by Nintendo, therefore, meaning that whenever they do maintainence they could probably look through the boxes that people have.

Not only could they have used the SD Card though to piggyback on your idea, but they could have also made a local wireless app that could still be bought from the eShop, but cost half of what the PokeBank would cost and hold as many Pokemon or a third of what the game does.

But like someone said, this is basically just a cash grab.

So you're saying it's impossible for Nintendo to do any kind of legitimacy checking locally?

They can. But what I mean is you could easily create a "Perfect" Pokemon using PokeGen and edit the SD File to add that Pokemon to your game without much hustle comparing to Cloud Storage.

Yeah... somebody's going to figure out how to put it into Cloud Storage pretty quickly.

Multiple players can share a box IIRC, so that's one thing at least. The rest, I don't really know, but there is a free trial period that you can probably use to transfer your mons.

People are failing to realize this is way more then just X and Y storage. This will be the storage system for future generations, way past the 3DS life span. By keeping your pokemon in the cloud you can erase the hassle of constantly moving pokemon 1 or 2 at a time. Anyone who complains about 5 dollars a YEAR really needs to check their priorities because if you would rather have extra storage in-game then you know your not a true pokemon fan. What happens after u beat the game and want to start over? What happens if u lose the game/3ds? This idea is brilliant.

Doesn't determine if your a pokémon fan or not. Completely irrevelant.
However the sentence after that is completely brillant. it effectively removes the need of a poke-transfer in future generation, which will benefit competition (as well as any pokéfan) players.

I completely forgot about replaying. A big problem was that it takes FOREVER to import pokemon from your games in recent generations to another game. So i never got to replay them as much as i wanted to, cause I didn't want to lose the pokes i got.

SD cards would work with that, but i like the idea that if a workaround to the ninty scans is discovered, they can patch the app.

Oh, yeah.

The current GAME event running means you'll be able to migrate a Shiny Dialga, Shiny Palkia and Shiny Giratina to your copy of X/Y if you have Black/White or Black 2/White 2.

I'm trying to think of a starter combination (without any type doubles, common sense), don't think I've seen anyone include Charmander in their combination yet? That's surprising.. Or, I'm just blind/totally missed it.

That's because you get a free Torchic and if you want no double types that rules Charmander out.
