Do you use just normal Wii games to complete the Wii mode on the Wii U?

What is the better game to use for the exploit over the rest of the games?

I have read the wiibrew wiki, I just want to make sure, I am confused obviously. Now I need to find one of the games listed.

Thanks

Its best recommended NOT to hack your Wii U, because its still under warranty and I'm pretty sure Nintendo's updates don't modify vWii's mode.

Already have a wii. haha

You can mod it, just be careful. There's only about 2 and half months of warranty left anyways if you got a launch Wii u. So far, there have been several reports of people sending in modded consoles to Nintendo for repair. They repaired it anyways. So as long as the Wii U breaks for a reason not related to the hack, they will probably just repair it. And by repair, they really send you a new one. Most likely, if your Wii U was defective and needed warranty work, you would have noticed in the first few months. Have you had it awhile? Mine broke immediately because of a power failure during the day one update. So that was obviously before softmodding was even possible. But as long as you don't have a defective Wii U, and you don't have any power failures during the update, you will be fine.

I would just get the one that you can find the cheapest which would be one of the Lego games. eBay probably has them used for next to nothing.
Yes, it's easier to patch than SmashStack but Nintendo are not focusing on the Wii anymore, and don't seem to intend to release any more Wii updates, so a patch is unlikely. Besides, it doesn't matter, since once you have hacked your Wii U's vWii you will never need the game (or exploit) again. That's why, if you have any friends who own one of the Lego games or SSBB you should just borrow it from them to do the exploit and save your money.

i bought it a few weeks ago and just opened and booted it up today.

Well it's up to you to risk the warranty then. Did you already do the system transfer? Did you do it regular, or did you do like me and restore a backup of the NAND on the Wii after the transfer? If you can put off modding the Wii U for a little while, it will be safer.
