Hey GBATemp,
I've lurked here for a bit and right now I'm at a loss, I've talked with a few friends about this issue and was recommended to come over here to ask. Although I just made this account I've been in the modding scene for ages, so I like to think I know what I'm talking about. Pretty much everything from a basic swap trick on a PS1 to soldering in and running an R-JTAG exploit on an Xbox 360.
Anyways all introductions aside, here's what's up: I bought a Wii last week with everything but a power supply and sensor bar, so I bought them separately online and hooked them up yesterday. The Wii worked perfectly, was on 4.3U and was ready to be exploited. I downloaded ModMii and set it all up. Now I've modded my younger brothers' Wii with Letterbomb and it's still working perfectly so I decided to go discless again. Unfortunately I'm at work right now and don't remember the name, it was essentially the same style as Letterbomb but it wasn't. It's the only discless exploit installed in ModMii and it's green instead of red. Anyways, once I had it all set up I went ahead exploited the system, installed Homebrew Channel, installed BootMii both ways, and then backed up my NAND.
After backing up the NAND I moved the key, NAND, and BootMii files over to my desktop and continued with the setup. Installed the custom IOS, PriiLoader, WADs, USB Loader and a theme. After that the Wii worked perfectly, everything worked and installed with no issues. When I finally went to try and play a game that's where it all fell through...
I had a backup copy of Smash Bros that I popped in and tried to run, but the disc wasn't recognized. I didn't think it was a big deal, so I tried to run a channel and suddenly my screen cut to black and my Wii powered off, with the light going straight red. I booted it back up and was greeted with nothing but a black screen. I figured the Wii bricked, but what I did should not have bricked it... I was only in the system menu and at the time wasn't doing anything to access the NAND, nor was the channel I was launching. I rebooted the Wii into PriiLoader and it all worked fine, so I loaded my NAND files back onto my SD card and booted into BootMii. From there I wrote over my original NAND and restarted my Wii... But same thing, black screen!
Now I KNOW this NAND was working, all this NAND contains is BootMii and The Homebrew Channel installed after the exploit, aside from that it has nothing else on it. I've noticed I can go into The Homebrew Channel and install things such as PriiLoader, WADs, IOS, and even run applications, but no matter what I do I simply cannot boot into the System Menu!
I've probably written over the original NAND at least 5 times and I'm still coming back to this. The NAND I'm flashing over doesn't have PriiLoader installed on it so I doubt it's a conflict with that, but even so I've installed PriiLoader with nothing enabled and still get the same thing.
So far here's what I'm gathering...
Any type of help would be appreciated as I've tried everything I can think of, and 3 friends who have more Wii modding experience than me can't figure it out either. Sorry for the wall of text, but I thought detail would be appreciated as opposed to first time posters saying "MAI WII BROKE, HELP UNBRICK"

So far here's what I'm gathering...
- It seems like a NAND issue, but technically what I did should have restored it.
- I doubt it's a hardware failure, as I can still run everything EXCEPT the System Menu.
- BootMii - Working
- NAND Recovery - Working
- The Homebrew Channel - Working (via BootMii)
- PriiLoader - Working
- System Menu - NOT WORKING
