Well I know they're doing lots of things wrong, but the article had an interesting thought about Nintendo's part of this affair and compares it to Microsoft's failings with Windows 8 tablets and Windows phone.

Business Insider article said:
"Developers don't want to make games that need to sell millions of copies for a system that doesn't even have that big of a user base."

Or you can read the article here: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/nintendo-microsoft-failing-same-reason-173000274.html

Anyway, I believe that in order for a game system (the Wii U in this case) to expand their user base, then third party developers, along with Nintendo, should start releasing some of these games that need to sell millions of copies. I mean, if I were to make a game, then I would immediately release it on the system so it would start making my company money. I know it sounds risky, but sometimes you just have to grit your teeth and do it. Just like you have to grit your teeth when you say your wedding vows. Okay, weird...

Well, leave comments below if you desire; click the like button, subscribe, etc... (sounds good on Youtube)

Its tablet controller, known as the GamePad, has kept some games from coming to the console because developers don't know how to take advantage of it in a unique way.
And who's fault is that?

A senior software developer at EA Sports even called the Wii U "crap" and said that Nintendo is "walking dead at this point." Perhaps it's not a surprise that "FIFA 14" and "Madden NFL 25," two of EA Sports' biggest titles for the year, aren't coming to the console.
I don't suppose he knows what irony is...

When the Wii U was first announced, Nintendo did such a poor job at the unveiling that a CNN tech reporter actually thought it was just an add-on for the original Wii. If someone who lives and breathes the tech world couldn't figure out the Wii U, how could a normal consumer?
I certainly figured out what it was and wasn't right off the bat.... why couldn't a supposed "tech reporter" figure it out? Oh yeah, I forgot people these days are freaking idiots who can't even perform remedial tasks correctly let alone know something about their chosen field.

Well, this pretty much sounds like those things bashing nintendo about what they're doing wrong, the truth is, Nintendo does a lot of things wrong, just like Sony and Microsoft (and about that windows 8 bit, people dislike it should give it a try, I love it myself), the reality of it is that Nintendo has been in the business for the longest time. While some people might say that being older doesn't mean anything in this aspect, it actually does, Nintendo survived after having 'failing' systems like the N64 and GameCube more recently, however they've been managing despite that, while at the same time, Sega, Bandai and Atari, all had to give up on it making systems and just make games now, yet Nintendo is still strong.

The developers? It's the iPad, 3DS, and portable game console all in one. But you can use the tablet in much the same way that you'd use the GameCube controller with the 'Cube. So, yeah; stupid. Just like this thread.

I think you missed the General Gaming Section, where all the other shit "financial" threads go.

tl;dr Nintendo is doomed.

This is not a financial thread per se but an analysis type news with lots of sources for all the statements. Some of it feels like obvious statements but I had yet to see a truly collated article and I also have to consider that I do float around this section.

Edit. Wait one of those sources is Wikipedia and for the laughable statement that the 3ds is doing well...... you are on thin ice thread.

Nintendo is at least partially to blame -- you introduce a "radical" change in stuff and they should be providing examples, tech demos, SDK libraries, consultants for the companies and more. From what we have seen such efforts seem weak at best.

Laughable might have been strong but compared to the DS the library for the time and definitely side by side is weaker, sales are hardly the "set the world alight" thing the DS had (though somehow they are pulling up).

I guess we just unearthed my "pah 3ds" sentiment.... this must be what it is like to be a fanboy.

So Nintendo needs to give developers artistic vision and creative ideas? Hell if that's the case Nintendo might as well be making the games for them. Because we all know that NO developer in the history of gaming has ever had to adapt to new technology without having their hand held.

Oh yeah Nintendo are not solely to blame but for every other technology dealing with other aspects of games, art, CAD and such fields that list and more happens and then some more after that. Also artistic vision and creative ideas =/= raw tech and if they do not have the libraries and example code in place then a similar situation to the early PS3 is at hand (hard to make code for in a reasonable timeframe).
