The title from the source says that they won't be giving support to this game, but its misleading, so I gave it a different title.
Sony’s Santa Monica Studio has confirmed that it has ceased active development for mascot-driven fighting game PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
No additional characters will be released. However, balance patch and free skins are coming later this year. The previous exclusive DLC will be made available.

I thought this was known a while ago but w/e.

I kinda like the game although it's not perfect, unfortunately I think a sequel is unlikely. But with a bit more polish, a larger roster, and some tweaks, it could be a really good fighter and kinda bridge the cap between SSB casualness and competitive-level games like Street Fighter.

(please don't say SSB is competitive IDGAF).

The game sold like absolute shit and the last characters were released ages ago. This is a surprise?

It can be a bit fun with friends, but really, that's a lame excuse - anything is fun with friends. At this point, I think it's more than fair to say that All Stars was a false start.

There were tons of stuff that the original company wanted in the game such as a Journey and Gravity Rush crossover stage.
Seriously, go to Google now and look up all of the planned DLC that were dropped.

Smash > SF in terms of competitiveness. Go learn son.

Edit: Doesn't matter anyways, the game was dead on arrival.

I'm glad, finally finished/platinum'd the game and sold it and deleted it off my Vita. It was fun at first, then I started noticing how broken the game was. I can't believe I even played online before the patches came, some of the stuff was shenanigans.

Never even brought Zeus and Isaac.

Its funny how people keeps bashing Smash as a competitive game despite everything. Someone missed the "one more year" chants at Evo 2013 lol

no more DLC that was probably planned if the game was successful?

edit there was: http://www.screwattack.com/news/dart-cancelled-playstation-all-stars-battle-royale-dlc-character

Abe from Oddworld and Dart from Legend of Dragoon were canned

absolute and utter failure sucks doesn't it?
